Second one today.  First it comes in as a local call in this case 985-314-1107 with the same type of B.S. message and to call 901-866-5971.  First one was from 504-882-9996 and to call 205-561-3771.  I have a creadit score of over 800 in all three companies.  This Marine is crazy but not stupid.

I see you failed to report in those other number threads, two of which remain empty.  Why was that?  Don't you think it would be helpful to others to let them know what the call was about when they search those numbers out?

Experienced pretty much the same as everyone else. But now they are using a number with my area code and they are telling me to call the 901-866-5971 number.

Actually each state has one. There is only so many years that a debit can be collected on. Check for yourself.

Your reading comprehension is near 0.  You obviously did not read that post and you obviously did not read the law.  Try not to make a fool out of yourself in the future by putting your foot in your mouth.

Actually, no state has a "statue" of limitations. Now, a "statute" on the other hand...

Yes there is when in regards to past due or old debt. Once it’s been discharged by the original creditor and sold to a debt collector or even if it’s never sold to a debt collector the creditor or a debt collector have 7 years to collect on any debt and if you make any arrangements or payments or admit you owe the debt it resets the time in which they can now make claim on said debt. They can however get a legal court order judgement against you in which they can continue to try and collect their debt but even that has a time limit and they have 7 years from the date the judgement is granted to collect that debt unless they are able to lien your property of some kind but most debts do not have that ability as the debt is unsecured and that’s what unsecured means.

Got a call and have received dozens of calls wanting me to call their service center to verify information on the individual that they have legal documentation to file against in their county but give no indication who they think they are contacting or what kind of legal action they have pending. They continue to call from spoof numbers so they can’t be blocked. It’s BS that they can continue to harass people this way. It should be illegal for anyone to disguise their phone number for the purpose of ongoing harassing phone calls.

One more time. There is no "statue of limitations." The word is "statute". See the extra T?

    I would suggest the following
    1.  You learn how to read.
    2.  You learn how to spell.
    3.  You learn how to use a dictionary.
    4.  You then use the ability to read to actually read the law.
    5.  There is no Statute of Limitations in any state that is 7 years.
    6.  If the debt was discharged, which can only be done through Bankruptcy then it can never be collected on legally.
    7. It does not matter when it was given or sold to the debt collector as the FCRA, which has nothing to do with debt collection goes by the last date of activity.
    8.  Admitting the debt does not reset the Statute of Limitations, only making a payment or entering into a new contract to pay the debt can do that.
    9.  They cannot get a judgement without taking you to court and there are set procedures for that so that you know it is going on and can defend yourself.
    10.  Judgements in certain states can last up to 20 years and I certainly do not know where you keep coming up with this 7 years bologna.
    11.  If an actual judgement is obtained for an unsecured debt then they can, if the law allows, place a lien on your home, car, etc.

Once again, no reading ability and spouting off nonsense and purposely posting misinformation.  Spoofed numbers can be blocked, you just don't know how to do it because once again you did not read the directions that came with the call blocker.

I would suggest that if there are anymore of those posts in here they are being put up by trolls simply to see if they can get fed.  "Christie" and this "Jj" seem to be incredibly stupid which makes me think it is an act to get responses to make them feel like they are important.

Got a call from this number saying that it’s imperative I contact them and they will be trying to contact me through my current employer as well as at my residence to resolve legal matter and give me a case number this is probably the 25th phone call that I received from this same scammer   I never identify a company that they represent or the client they represent.  But they do you have my name and phone number obviously.  They say they’re a service center.

They call at least twice a day on all our phones (mine, husband) and home for the past three weeks. Same message as to everyone else about a case number. No company ID, who they represent or any valid info. Their phone number is non-existent locally so they give you the 901 number

So you’re here to bully people? Not offer any actual advice? The only painful things to read are your unnecessary comments. The rest of us are trying to see who is calling and thanks to those who posted-typo or not-we now know to be weary.

message implies there are pending legal matters to be filed “in your county” if you don’t call back to verify your address.  It is a dept collector, but I never been in dept or owed any money to no one.  I pay in cash for 99% of the time.  National Debt Collectors. called from a spoof number (253)243-0234 and then left different number to call.
