- gls19xxReceived voice box messages on both my home home and cell numbers. They claimed to be a Fraudulent Warning notice from Citibank. Instead of calling the number they give me, I called the number in back of my Citibank card instead as they indicated.
As it turns out, this is a legitamate call from Citibank as the Customer Service confirmed a possible breech of my credit card number from a merchant's customer database. No fraudulent purchases were made but the account has been closed as a precaution and a new card issued.
This is NOT a scam, but confirm the message by calling the number in the back of your card along with the Reference # they gave you.- Caller: Citibank
- deeThis is apparently a legitimate number, but I refused to pick up or listen to their voice mail...called citibank directly once I learned it could have been from them......they verified, but i still will not give info to anyone over the phone or internet without me contacting them first....just good sense.....when I told citibank that, they were understanding (unusual)
- cindyI got a call from this number this morning, but they did not leave a message. I found the link to Citibank when I looked up the number on line. I did call my Citibank card and they verified that I had been called reagarding charges from the previous evening. They apologized that a message had not been left by the caller. Though the Citbank person that I spoke to could not verify the entire 904-954-7500 number, they were able to tell me that they were in the 904 area code in Jacksonville, Fl.

- StellaIt is from citibank. I got a call from this number this afternoon and had a bad feeling about it. So I called the citibank customer service right away to confirm. The representative confirmed this number that it was from a specialist from citibank.
- LaurenI got a call from this number today. They claimed to be Home Depot looking for my brother??? Very strange because I actually got a legit call from Citi Bank last week from the Citi Card Fraud department asking about a purchase I'd made.
- StefanThis is real, not phishing. this webpage freaked me out and I called customer services to make sure I wasn't just phished and they assured me that this activty was legitimate. If you fear a person is phishing for your personal info, always confirm it by calling the number on the back of your card. to verify.
- Caller: Citi Cards
- JuniasThis was a legitimate call from Bloomingdale's Visa. To be on the safe side, I called back at the number on the back of my card. A charge at an online merchant located in the UK had been flagged as fraudulent, but I got it sorted out.

- John replies to JimLegit. I received a message from this number and was in the process of calling them back when my financial manager called me about the alert. We called the fraud department and someone was on a Wal Mart shopping spree on the West Coast.
- AnneThis is legitimate. I received a call from this number. It is a fraud warning call to verify any unusual activity on the credit cards you may have associated with Citibank. Customers of companies that use Citibank, like Petro-Canada could receive a call from this number. I had to have some work done on my car, so the amount charged to my card was considerably more than I normally have.
The call came from Florida at 6:10 AM PST. so I did not answer. They left a message giving a 1-800 number to call. I phoned and it was about the transaction that I done the afternoon before. All their info was correct, but I called the customer service number for Petro-Canada and verified that everything was legit.
Always phone the customer service number of your credit card company to verify any- Caller: Cittibank/Petro Canada
- JDI got a call & they said they were Consumer Protection Dept calling regarding my Macy's card. I called Macy's & asked if that was a valid number. The guy at Macy's said I'll call the number and find out. I asked how he would know that it was Macy's since whoever answered the phone would say they were Macy's. Since the Macy's employee confirmed the number was valid, I called the number & they said I would have to call from my home phone or my cell phone to discuss the details. That was after I punched in my credit card #, the last 4 of my SS#, was asked my birthdate & my mother's maiden name. It doesn't sound right & it is too late at night to reach Macy's again. Meanwhile, if that is a fraudulent number, Macy's will have big problems for telling me it is legitimate. I don't see why they needed all that info to confirm my identity.
- Caller: Consumer Protection Dept.
- nlhi called the # on the back of my citicard, instead of the # they left me, just in case. turns out there was fraudulent activity on my card.
