    Individual called, very rude, looking for a family memeber.  Stated his name was Jeff Walton.  Caller began yelling and using profanity, threatened to continually call.  Caller also stated "Shut up and don't bother calling the police".  I am extreamly concered as it could have been my 12 year old daughter who answered the phone.  BEWARE

    Yes, a Jeff, not sure if Walton is the correct last name though. The address for this joker's office (collection agency/recovery company) is in Thornhill, Ontario on Colbourne Street in an office building I am guessing 4 but I am not sure of the suite number yet. This individual is possibly working for cb worldwide inc or global credit or a division of one of these recovery agencies. The person who casually calls himself Jeff is more than rude, more along the lines of arrogant and cocky that he is a recovery rep and proud of the chosen method of aggressiveness he uses to attempt a reply & a promise to pay. I will post more information as the investigation continues to identify the exact company and a photo of the building will be provided soon along with a photo of this Jeff character entering the building or exiting. He will need some coaching from a proper team lead/superior on effective communication or will need to be terminated permanently if the individual is too narrow minded and unable to be re-trained due to mental defect. To all those receiving the inappropriate type of collection calls from him, try to ignore for now and  keep updated of this website in the next couple of weeks for an update. Who knows Jeff may not be around much longer to torment the innocent on the receiving end, whom he never bother to confirm if he has the right phone number, pity....

    I have been recieving calls at work from Jeff as well as a Mr. Burke...I called Jeff back and was called a whiner, threatened and hung up on. I found the way he presented himself to be very amusing as he told me several times the call was being recorded. I have now been threatened again and told they are goin to start garnishing my wages, as I explained to them not once had I ever recieved any phone calls or mailings in regards to what they were calling me for. I am going to the police and contracting a lawyer because of the fact that PARTNERS IN CREDIT are currently under investigation for VIOLATION OF ETHICS and JEFF himself is being investigated for FRAUD AND ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT FOR PERSONAL GAIN.

    I was given this number to contact JEFF WALTON (not sure if that is right):  1888 730 6333 ext 2165

    I too have been receiving calls from "Partners In Credit."  Rude, raised voice, demanded my SIN number and when I stated I would not provide it, said I would be in "trouble" and was tying to "avoid" them when it was I who had returned their call after getting a ton of messages.  They did not even have the right name, but a variation of my name - and stated that I lived in or at one time lived in Hamilton which I nerer have.  Person I spoke to was Vincent Fiore (so he said) and the number used to phone me and to which I replied was 1-888-216-8161.  I was never told at any point what the credit problem was, with whom, or for what, only that I owed them (how much was never stated). I was mad at myself because I did offer some personal information (Mothers name) out of frustration because of this so called Vincent's aggression.  I was on the phone for approx. 15 minutes with them.  After I hung up, I wrote a formal complaint to the Canadian Better Business Bureau.

    I received several calls for these guys threatening to suspend my drivers license. I don't owe anyone any money --- no debt, no CC, nothing. I asked exactly how a collection agency would go about suspending ones drivers license and was told their lawyers would take it to a judge to obtain the court order. I asked them to send me their Statement of Claim for my lawyers to look at and so far nothing but a standard collection agency form letter requesting to pay. I received a few more calls(VM) saying that they are now proceeding with the suspension of my drivers license [that my time has run out]. The calls stopped for about 6 months and now a new guy is trying it again. Guess they couldn't suspend my DL after all.

    annoyed with those who wont listen
    Some time ago I got a call from a Mr. John Demuurs (guessing on the spelling) who went on and on despite the fact I had been out of the country and not even had a bank account in Canada since 1999. The guy just wont listen on and on. It seems what they do is call everyone with a similair name hoping to get the right one.

    I wish they would be FORCED to record the conversation because then they would be sitting in the dock at a criminal court. Demuurs seemed more stunned than anything not like this Walton cat people mention.

    For the benefit of the bill collectors on here, the regulations for the province of Ontario are posted below. Can you at least read them and try to comply and I know this is a big request -try to get the right guy! Just because the name is the same doesn;t make it so. I googled my own name and found 7 listings including a baseball player.

    The Ontario Ministry of Government Services consulted the collection industry to develop a standard to be followed by all collectors. Having a standard also allows the public to have a better understanding of what collection agencies can and can't do. The regulations forbid collection agencies from:
    •    contacting you until six days have passed from sending you written notice of the following:

    •  the name of the creditor

    •  the balance owing

    •  the name of the agency and its authority to demand payment
    •    continuing to contact you if you did not receive the notice unless a second copy of the written notice is sent to an address provided by you, and then contact may only be made six days after sending notice;
    •    contacting you if you send a registered letter to the agency saying that you dispute the debt and suggest the matter be taken to court;
    •    contacting you if you or your lawyer notify the agency by registered mail to communicate only with your lawyer, and you provide the lawyer's name, address and telephone number;
    •    contacting you on Sunday, except between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and on a holiday;
    •    contacting you other than by ordinary mail more than three times in a seven-day period without your consent, once the agency has actually spoken with you;
    •    using threatening, profane, intimidating or coercive language, or using undue, excessive or unreasonable pressure;
    •    continuing to contact you if you have told them that you are not the person they are looking for unless they take reasonable precautions to ensure you are that person;
    •    giving false or misleading information to any person;
    •    recommending to a creditor that a legal action be commenced against you without first sending you notice;
    •    contacting your employer except on one occasion to obtain your employment information, unless your employer has guaranteed the debt, the call is in respect of a court order or wage assignment or if you have provided written authorization to contact your employer;
    •    contacting your spouse, a member of your family or household, or a relative, neighbour or acquaintance except to obtain your address and telephone number unless the person contacted has guaranteed the debt or you have given permission for the person to be contacted
