I got a call from this number at 8:30pm 9/13/2011.  Caller ID came up as REUNI  914-3395-641. They asked for me by name. I did not confirm that it was me. They asked for my name again. I asked what company they represented. They told me Reuni. I asked what this was regarding and again they asked for me by name. They would not answer my question. I told them I was not interested and to take them off of their list. They interrupted me and said "Maam, you are jumping to conclusions." I said that I wasn't interested. As I was telling them this they hung up on me. In the background I could hear that it was a large phone calling establishment. I think I can assume that it was a telemarketing company. I searched the web. Posts are saying it is a scam sales company.

Other sites also say that the company is affiliated with Bizrate, "one stop shop for several different marketing channels"

    Further research found the following:

Privacy Policy also applies to consumers that have agreed to receive electronic marketing from Reuni or our partner websites, via e-mail, via third party partner websites, or otherwise. They may sell the personal information that you supply to them and they may work with other businesses to bring selected retail opportunities to their Users. These businesses may include, but are not limited to: a) providers of direct marketing services and applications, including lookup and reference, data enhancement, suppression and validation; (b) e-mail marketers; and (c) telemarketers; (d) mobile marketers.

This means that if you signed up for something on the web Reuni may employ "cookies" to help "customize" your access to the Website. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a your hard drive containing information about you. They use cookies to anonymously track and target the interests of their users for advertising tracking purposes. These companies make their money by selling lists of information you entered about yourself to other companies.

In addition, by registering at the Website, you agree that such act constitutes an inquiry and/or application for purposes of the Amended Telemarketing Sales Rule (16 CFR §310 et seq.), as amended from time to time (the "Rule"). Notwithstanding that your telephone number may be listed at the Federal Trade Commission's Do-Not-Call List, we retain the right to contact you via telemarketing in accordance with the Rule.

This means that since you clicked "agree to terms" for whatever you signed up with, it gives them permission to call you .. it bypasses the Do-Not-Call List through the Federal Trade Commission's list.

They state that you can request to remove your name from their call list, but "due to high volume" that even if you do so, they cannot promise that you won't receive other calls from them.

    >.>

Only thing i can suggest is to be sure to read the "accept terms" policy of the sites you go to before you agree. Be sure to clear your cookies often. Keep your virus scanner (such as Norton) updated to protect your pc from viruses, trojans, and browser hijackers.

As for the phone solicitations... request that they put you on their "do not call" list. You can report them to your telephone company. If they still persist.. let your answering machine pick up the calls. This will provide proof of their "harassment" if you should decide to take further measures in a court case.

According to the FTC, violators can be subject to fines of up to $16,000.

    Hope this helps ^^

They called asking for me by name, the lady claimed I won a prize for visiting their website but could not tell me what website.  She then told me I could get $100 Wal-mart check and a $20 gift card if I'd make a one time payment of $4.95 for UPS shipping and handling; she proceeded to ask me for my credit card #, which I did not provide.

First it is illegal for a telemarketer to sell to a minor so calling minors so WHY? are they calling minors! Two once a # is known to belong to a minor ALL calls should/would stop right, right. Three MASS calling 1 number is harassment no mater if you are a real company or not. Four the fact we can not call the # and get a person shows they are hiding so in fact they know they are doing wrong. Five from the sounds of it I think you are in on it with them!

They call and claim you won a $100, giftcard from Target or WalMart but request that you pay for postage and handling. Here is where the scam comes in as they expect you to give them a credit card number.
I of course said no and hung up. But i fear for others or young people or the elderly

This phone number has randomly showed up on my cell phone. For some reason they know my address and i finally picked up today and they kept wanting to give me a $100 gift card to target or wal-mart. What is the best way to report these scammers to my local police?

Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru.
But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.
    From Wikipedia:

Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to display a number on the recipient's Caller ID display which is not that of the actual originating station. The term is commonly used to describe situations in which the motivation is considered malicious by the speaker or writer. Just as e-mail spoofing can make it appear that a message came from any e-mail address the sender chooses, Caller ID spoofing can make a call appear to have come from any phone number the caller wishes. Because of the high trust people tend to have in the Caller ID system, spoofing can call the system's value into question.

It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!
Where are the feds when I need them????? I wrote to my US Rep...no response!

Bottom line: IGNORE IT and never give the other side ANY information. PERIOD!

Just another bs scam.  I turned down a job (in Fl.) from one just like it, and there are probably lots of them all over the country. They're nothing more than call rooms run by slimy dirt bags who make a living ripping people off, and as long as people fall for it, they'll keep doing it.  The WTF factor about this particular phone number is that they waste the time to call/hang up repeatedly after you call them out on their scam.  They've been calling here and hanging up for the last couple of weeks, so I'm glad I found this site......There IS an option to be placed on the "do not call" list; you just call the number back, and push the button it says will do that.    Just did it, so give it a try, and here's hoping it actually works,  LOL ~ they probably scam someone else by selling the DNC numbers as leads!
    Good Luck

I seem to have put my number into something i should not have.  Scumbags call over and over from different numbers, never leave a message and always just hang up if I answer and ask any questions about how they got my number.
