- Frank| 2 repliesThis number has called 5 times in the past week. Caller ID says Starnet. The person who answers (thick accent) says they work for Time Warner. The 917 area code is from New York and, when asked, the person verified that's where he was calling from. I got the person to admit they Do indeed work for Starnet and they represent Time Warner, AT&T,etc. Informed them each time I am on Do Not Call Registery and not to call again.

- DorseCall came today, intercepted by a service that blocks robotic calls. Looking at the other comments, it's plain this is some kind of scam since Time Warner does not operate any cable service in metro Atlanta.

- SAMCaller ID is "STARNET". Calls my office phone and does not leave a message. I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. Based on the other posts and the number of times they keep calling, this is a phishing scam.

- Rhonda| 1 replyThis guy named Max, heavy accent tried to sell me Comcast Cable. Told him I had just talked to AT&T this a.m and was thinking of switching again. Everything he said sounded fishy. He could give me a triple bundle for less than I'm paying by $60 a month with a two year price guarantee. Then only $50 installation and give the check to the installer. Told him from the get go I would not give him any personal info on a call he initiated. Even gave me a number to call back to see if company was legit. Told me he'd send all the info via e-mail. He offered to call me back in 20 min, so I could check it out. I didn't get a chance to call the phone, but on-line they didn't offer any packages for the 200 (100 HD) through Comcast. Then it dawned on me he never called it Comcast Xfinity. He tried to hard sell me, this offer only good for today, blah blah. At which point he reminded me how hard he is working there and the time he's spent on trying to satisfy my doubts. When he called back about 20 min later, he eventually led up to wanting my SS# to do a credit check. At that point I said oh, hell no! He's like I told you I didn't need a credit card number, but you even give your SS# for healthcare, what's the big deal. Told him I'm not an idiot, that's what and I told him goodbye and hung up!

- Willy| 1 replyRobo call and a heavy accented man connected after I answered. Said he was some-name from Time Warner Cable. I hung up, since we are not in TWC territory. Caller ID said Starnet. Fortunately, with my new cable/phone company, this number is now blocked.

- Jack Page| 2 repliesI got a call like everyone else. I said no to all his questions about me. He had a middle eastern accent and knew all about my account with TWC. My address, and all and how long I had the account. I am calling TMC to find out what this is about.

- AnonymousGot a call at 4:25 PM in the afternoon on May 26th 2016 and my home phone caller ID says STARNET and I do not answer it unless I know the person. I'm getting to the point of using a Air Horn because I'm getting sick and tired of this [***].

- Elle Jay| 1 replyCall came up as 'Starnet'. Dude with thick accent claimed to be calling for AT&T with some amazing offers to switch from my current provider. Funny, either they did their research to find that there's only one competitor in this area or my provider is selling my information. Probably both.
Don't know if it is a scam and don't care. I would rather cut off all services entirely before I would ever patronize AT&T. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the call center was acting on behalf of AT&T because this isn't the first telemarketing call I've received from them. When they launched the digital life crap they ignored the federal and state 'Do not call' registries then and still continue to do so despite being verbally told to cease and desist.
Filed a complaint with donotcall.gov against AT&T as futile as it tends to be. Recommends everyone do the same.- Caller: Starnet on behalf of AT&T
