You CAN prove someone called you by either presenting your detailed cellphone bill, which shows inbound and outbound calls by date & time & phonenumber, OR your landline provider can present you with the same. Then you can give that info to the FCC.

    Punk them
When you ignore their calls it just makes their job easier.
You should answer with "hello" and wait for a live agent to pick up.
Pretend to be interested, stay calm and act agreeable. BUT never give them your credit card info.
The idea is to waste as much of their time as humanly possible. When they have to answer calls from people who have no interest in their scam...they lose money.
Remember, it's an automated machine calling you not an actual person. If you don't answer it's no skin off their nose because the machine will just call you back later. Get even and make them answer the calls they're making.

Ok, I found their back-door number in which you can speak to a live person.
It's 918-442-0302...notice that it is one number off from the number calling you.

I am on the do not call list but I still get telemarketing calls from these jerks. Clients have same area code, so I have occasionally answered phone by mistake. So now they keep calling keep calling.

What is a do not call list for anyway?!

There actually is a law against that.  Telemarketers are not allowed to make automatic dial phone calls to cell phone numbers, per federal law.

I Run a small trucking company.  Yesterday I was out of the office (my daughter had surgery) and I get this call on my cell phone from some guy wanting to speak with the person in charge of fleet purchasing.  I tried (really fast) to explain I was @ the hospital and unable to talk and hung up.  2 minutes later phone rings again, this time he calls me a bit*h and hangs up!  OMG!!! To say that I am mad would be an understatement.

Don't sweat it, I pressed one to be connected to a live operator and had kept him on the phone for close to 10 minutes.  I asked all kinds of ridiculous (but plausible) questions regarding stimulus money, grants, how the taxes on that would work, liability, escrow, on-and-on.  I have one of those OFFICIAL SOUNDING voices when I want to and acted very interested.

Eventually, I took a HUGE swig of root beer and let one of the loudest belches I can remember in recent times rip across the phone wires.

"Excuse me?" he said,  No, EXCUSE ME!  I said then let him have another stellar performance.

He made a horrible groaning sound, then hung-up!

    Buh-Bye

I have repeatedly reported these calls to the fcc and all I ever get is a letter back saying, sorry, no proof. What more proof do they need than our phone records? Problem is they use thousands of numbers and switch which ones are calling you so that you can't prove it was the same company. And, they change companies names constantly to keep ahead of it.

I know, but they didn't bother to use anything I gave them to prove it.
