This is at least the 10th computer-virus scam call we've blocked (after checking each of them out on 800 Notes) in the last 8-9 months...different area codes and numbers in each case--but if there are this many people out there running the same scam, it shows how lucrative a scheme it is for them! Yet another number now blocked...and thanks for the helpful posts here, everyone!

Yup they are such scammers.... told me my computer sent them a message... so turn on my computer... I told them that was odd it has not been on for months so how can it send a message? She told me it doesn't matter if it's on or off so I told her repair it just how she got the message

GT will pronounce above and render it into English (and many other languages). If caller cannot grasp your accent,  hold receiver to speaker and play above in his native tongue. (Nothing dirty, BTW.)

They  are, how you say?   Yes, they are Computer Virus Scammers calling.  Ignore and Block.

Caller identified "himself" as a Microsoft techie & said that my computer was compromised & needed to be "fixed". I ignored the message. About an hour later, the same number called but left no message. SCAM!  If you don't recognize a
calling number, don't be a fool & pick it up! Just let it be.

Another SCAM call pretending to be Microsoft support.  These idiots from India keep calling the house even though we only have Macs.  I guess they're taking a break from their IRS scam.

I got the call to, But I didn't answer it, and they didn't leave a message.

"Your computer has been generating serious warnings or errors. Press 1 to speak to a certified Microsoft technician"

So I pressed one and told the woman on the other end that there was no way they would know that sort of thing, and told her never to call my number again.

I bet I'll get another tomorrow, though. That's how these [***] roll.

I keep getting calls from number 949-281-1226 saying my computer has been compromised and has a virus and this is a Micro-Soft tech to fix the problem, they already scam  me out of money last yr,  and I have gotten real Micro -Soft tech taking care of my computer, these people won't leave me alone, tried to call back, and it says the number has been disconnected, I'm on the do-not-call list also!

scam caller, tried to infect my computer yesterday.  I had to restart to get rid of their message.  Had the nerve to robo-call me today!!

Got it too-same message as above stating Microsoft; just hung up.

They called me 4 times today....w different numbers...freaky

If everyone who knows this is a scam would just engage them and keep them on the phone as long as possible they would learn they can't make enough money doing this. My record is 20 minutes for one of these guys. They had to elevate me to higher levels of expertise. I use the speakerphone and am working on other things while I'm talking to them. Quite often I say I have to go get something, but if you're gone for more than a minute or two they will hang out.
