Don't worry peoples, most of the college advisors are friendly and awesome!! This one seems kinda snippy. BUT, I have NEVER dealt with any like that. They are always kind and patient.

Yeah, i've been on wintherace.com too and it's ok, but the people i've dealt with are lots more helpful than that. You must have spoke to someone new or something. That sucks.

The "Red-Flag" with this incoming call to my business is that the telemarketer on the other end is deceitful.  As soon as I answered the phone she said "uh...ya...this is Stacy at Supply Direct, so what is the model number of your copier?"  I said, "Excuse me, who is this?"  She repeated the name and said that they provide all our supplies out here for our all-in-one fax, copier, printer.  I looked up our model number but before I gave it to her, I asked her again to tell me the name of her company.  As soon as I asked a second time, she hung up on me.

I was looking for a Nursing school in my area, and I had no luck in finding one. So I googled some information and these guys started calling me. At first, I was a bit hesitant but they ended up helping me. They, too, couldn't find a nursing school but they were able to help me find a school for Ultrasound Tech. and now I'm enrolled and very happy. I woudln't have been able to find this school on my own. I'm sure they'll be able to stop calling you if you just ask them to take your number off their list.

They weren't able to help me when they called me first but only because there wasn't any nursing near me and I didn't want to move. But I called them back and they got me some info for a college in Virginia and I think I'll be moving next month. Anyway I have worked for a call center before and like most call centers I'm sure they are on an automatic dialer. Those dialers will NEVER stop calling you unless you answer your phone. Then either get the info you requested or let them know you are no longer interested.  Either way, if they have your info then YOU filled it out somewhere so don't blame them if they are calling you. Also sometimes someone will fill out some info and use a random number that may end up being yours, and again it still not the companies fault. Just tell them it's the wrong number. Also a lot of surveys and prize winning web sites will give your info to call center companies and tell them you want info. This is not always what you want but the site privacy policies always tell you this and is completely legal. (However if this is the case then most like more than one call center is calling you and they are not connected so have no idea you are being called by others.) Again the call center thinks you want the info and would not get your info if they didn't think you wanted it. (It's not beneficial to them otherwise.) Lastly, after working for a Call Center I learned quite a bit. Mainly just answer the questions you feel comfortable with, let them know if you are interested or not and be nice. Being rude might make you feel better but for the calls to stop the caller has to input that you are not interested and if you are rude to them they may not feel like doing that for you. P.S. Not answering the phone so that they don't know it's an active line is a thing of the past. It is the worst thing you can do because it will NEVER stop.

If you would answer your phone and communicate then we would stop calling. We are on an auto dialer so if you dont answer then it tries again until we reach someone.

The only reason we are calling you is because college infomation was requested from your particular number weither it was you or someone using a wrong number. If you dont need college information or it was a wrong number just say that and we will remove you from our list.

We are only trying to help.

College Bound does not text.  We do send emails with a link to our website wintherace.com but we ask permission first.

Somewhere on your survey a box was checked for college information - that is why we are calling. We are not telemarketers...we call people because information was requested.

In other words, somebody checked the a box on a website that said

"Contact me relentlessly no matter what. Ring my phone as often as you can. Never leave a message. Repeat."

Thanks for helping to make the internet a massive inconvenience for the unsuspecting.

If you're not selling anything how do you make money?

How do you sleep at night you scamming scumbag?

Do you know where your CAPS LOCK key is?

not true. i have never requested any information. i am 26 years old. graduated from community college over 5 years ago, and from a trade school almost a year ago. definitely do not need any information about colleges, it is not a wrongnumber because they ask for me by name. any legitimate company has no reason to hide behind a fake caller id. actually it is against the law anyways. (ref: truth in caller ID act) if they keep calling with blocked caller IDs, you can file a lawsuit,
