- DRMiami| 1 replyDO NOT give these people your money!!! I gave them $1,000.00 towards a medical debt before I realized the debt does not appear on my credit report, let alone my payments! The debt does not exist.
They have never been able to give me any statements, balances, or even a confirmation number for my payments. I always spoke with a woman named "Gale". When I called asking for paper statements reflecting my payments, she said, "Oh no, I don't have that. The law offices has that." I said, "I thought you were the law office." She said, "No I'm the collector, I don't process your account. 'She' does (I don't know who she is) and SHE's not in right now."
My advice: Let them sue you and then the judge can require them to produce proof that your account exists. I hope this helps someone.- Caller: Adam J Katz, PA

- Annoyed123456Received a call from this number, did not pick up, no message left. Another number from another scammer, it seems like. If you can help it, never answer a call from a number you don't recognize. They do stop calling, eventually... but new numbers will pop up.

- CWG40After hours robo-greeter IDs them as the "Law Office of Adam J. Katz".
History of questionable practices by this group. Threats of civil action. Representatives saying that they are part of the local county government. Pretending to be prosecutors for some minor crime or another. Refusal to send debt validation letters. All in all, generally bad actors.
I'd ignore and block any calls from Katz or his group National Management Recovery Corp.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand.- Caller: Informational post
- Mare Domena| 1 replyThey left vm saying they had a file with my name on it. I have debt but am current on all payments. So is my husband. I had a minor traffic ticket but it was paid. I have no idea why they call. I am not returning their phone call. They can send me a legal notice thru the mail!

- BigA replies to Mare DomenaYou need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Looks like he is officially a criminal, yet he still has a license to practice law? http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2006-02-11/n ... s-appeals-court
I can’t find a registration with the Florida Dept. of State or a collections license under that company name. This would preclude them from legally doing business or collecting in Florida.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
