I RECEIVED A CALL FROM 971 217-9538.  WHEN I ANSWERED, NOBODY SAID A WORD.  I HAVE MY NUMBER LISTED ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST.  WHAT IS GOING ON?

Received a call @ 11:02AM this morning, I wasn't near the phone so no message left.I am starting to wonder how effective the DNC list really is at times.

NO sweetie if you PRESS ONE this doesnt OPT you out, this actually ACKNOWLEDGES you are a "real person with a legit number"  just like on EMAILS if you hit REPLY to SPAM you are saying "JACKPOT YOU GOT ME NOW"!!  These people randomly pick numbers by a machines- once you connect in any fashion THEY GOT YOU!

I CALLED THE NUMBER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS SOME TYPE OF SURVEY THAT HAD EXPIRED.  THEY SAID TO PRESS 1 IF YOU WANT TO BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY FROM THEIR LIST, I DID.  ISN'T IT A KICK IN THE HEAD HOW THESE PEOPLE GET YOUR NUMBER TO BEGAN WITH?

I agree he has small balls, small minded, small pe-is, small fingers and dreams of owning a porsche!He also is a red-neck loser by his comment- probably never even been on a plane.

do have your number removed...it's annoying and rude that nobody is on the other end of the line.  Do they want my opinion on that?

It would be worth putting up with these calls just to find out who these people are.  No quick dispatch on my table, I would take my slow methodical time with these people.

Also just got a call from this number (Saturday) and did not answer. Are political calls exempt from following the do not call list?

Yes. That's because they think their high and mighty selves are more important than respect for YOUR home, telephone (which you, not they, pay for) and privacy. Factor that in when you decide who to vote for. You are supposed to be their boss and you should only vote for someone who gets that and puts their DO NOT CALL where their mouth is.

For starters, you should tell them that their campaign should screen all their phone lists against the Political Do Not Call List. That is if they robocall at all.

I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer but Caller ID said PACIFICTEL
