Received call from correction facility twice within a 30 minute period. First time was from 1-800-483-8314. Second time was from a Texas based phone number 972-280-7286. As there are possible scams, I chose not to answer it. If anyone I know has gone to a correctional facility, there are relatives and other friends that person can reach out towards. It most likely is a caller trying to reach out to a previous owner of my current phone number if it is not a scam.

I did not answer.  I did however try to call the number to tell them to remove me from their lists as I don't know anyone who is incarcerated.  All I got was a bunch of ads, one right after the other.
Auto warranty, Medicare supplemental insurance, discount prescriptions.  Never a person.

T doesn’t state what facility the inmate is calling from and continues to call. Just says inmates name as Rodney.

wife's cell was called yesterday - left recording on VM that was a portion of same call as posted at 804-424-2517 - sounds same as above - reported as spam and blocked

THEN this morning had VM from this number with the full recording - did not show in the caller list - just on voice mail!

This number has called me twice today. I did not answer either time. But Verizon caller ID had it listed as " prison" . I don't know anyone in prison.

got another voicemail without a call! Same recorded message with a female announcer, and a VERY faint name of the offender.  Wonder why blocking the number still allows the VM?

In the last few days, I have received at least 6 calls or voicemails from 972-280-7286 asking me to verify that I want to accept calls from some inmate (can't hear the name).  I just hang up or delete the voicemails.

Getting several calls a day from a recording wanting to get permission to put through calls from prison offenders.  I want this number blocked.

Then go right ahead & block it. No one here can do it for you.

What is really funny is that a simply call to that prison would stop the calls immediately.  But that is probably too much effort since that one seems to be too lazy to even block the number herself.

Okay so far this phone number has called me five times and I have no idea what they want. However I’ve read other people’s experiences and apparently they are collect calls from some kind of jail. This creeped me out and I’m glad I didn’t answer the calls. They are really starting to get annoying though. They called me three times at work yesterday. Sooo, don’t answer this number because it sounds like it’s most likely a scam.

Call it back it’s not a jail number 2nd call I’ve gotten today. But inmate name is never heard. Google says pcs jail or gtl connect network.   Call back and it’s a singles date line don’t give ur number

More than likely it is an inmate scam pretending to be a date line.  Nothing new about romance scams from inmates.
