Same deal here. Calling from 972-701-9061, wants to talk  to the owner, refuses to give any information or hangs up when asked. All he will say is he "Samuel" is from Texakoma (an oil production company in Plano TX). Hope this helps someone avoid his calls and subsequently, the harassment.

Same as everyone above.  Calling about investment opportunities for oil and gas and according to the guy i spoke the owner has a great opportunity to invest for a big profit.  I flat out told him I will never pass him to the owner.  He left his number anyway.  Uh huh I will be sure to pass the message along.

Called and asked to speak to "Peter" very casually like he knew him.  I told him he wasn't in and he said he would try him on another line he has for him.  Yeah right....

Just got a call from these guys... always know it's not something important when they ask for the owner by first name only.....considering he died about 2 years is a sure fire way to know it's spam. Thankfully the new owner has a personal assistant I can pass these two. She hangs up more skillfully than I.

Okay so I did some research after getting the calls. First, If you have been a business owner for longer than 2 seconds then you know there are scams in the oil and gas industry that call you up and try to get you to invest your hard earned money. And yes, it's a little unsettling when I get a call from an oil and gas "company" because you don't know which is which.

Texakoma, however, is in fact a completely legitimate oil and gas investment firm in the Plano area there North of Dallas. They are registered with FINRA, the financial regulatory authority. The guys, or gals that call me or you are licensed brokers by the state of Texas and they had to pass a series 22 and series 63 securities exam prior to them being employed there. Of course the economy being what it is, I have no money to invest in anything but my own business. But at least if you get a call from this number, you can rest assured that they are not a scam.

Received a call (972) 701-9106, a man identifying himself as "SAM" with Texakoma wanting to speak with our company owner. Sam insisted he speak with him regarding a financial investment. Attempted to obtain contact information to arrange a callback, SAM refused stating he could not be reached and there is no number available for a callback. Why would anyone want to invest with someone they couldn't callback for more information and follow-up. REALLY!?! It is a SCAM!

Quality investment opportunities don't cold call a small sized company 2000 miles away. Getting tired of these people constantly calling only wanting to talk to the business owner and leaving mo message. Sorry, but you will never get transferred to them through me and I will be answering the phone 95% of the time.

A guy with Texakoma Oil Co. selling "working intrests". Working intrest is just a scam to hook you into become "part owner" of a well. When they need more money you have to fork it over. Then when the EPA comes down on them, You are responsible for the mess and not the actual company.

DON'T DO IT PEOPLE! You can't afford it. Tell them to shove off and never call again!

I marked them below as a telemarketer, only because they don't have the option to mark it as a scam.

Rude man calling for the owner of the company by first name. Wouldn't let me finish my sentance to tell him the owner was not available with " Whatever." then hung up.

I have been involved with this company for years, They are as legitimate as can be. Oil investments are risky. If all wells were good, they would not need investors! Working Interest deals are not a scam. It is the way that real oil company's do business. This enables the investor to receive the
substantial tax benefits.  If you do not understand the oil and gas business and Investing, please be silent so that you do not confuse people!

I do business all over the world and the majority of these relationships have been very profitable for me.
I used to not take these calls, one day I started to wonder what they had to offer. I am very. very. glad that I took their calls. Made a lot of $$$$ and earned substantial tax breaks. I learned to take all of the calls ,some of them have been very good and others not so good. I believe that I am smart enough and educated enough to make my own investment decisions. I would never let my receptionist make these decisions for me.

Did you read this piece of crap before you posted it? Why not pick a financial advisor out of a bunch of drunks at the pub. Throw darts at a board to pick stocks, it's safer. A cold call & I made $$$. Get the shovel folks, the horse ate well!

Please be sure to tell all of your friends and relatives how true this is and that all of this has been up for 50 years!
