I answered the phone this morning (Saturday) and got a recording that was cut off to call a number  back regarding my account. ??? When I called the number back, it said the line was incorrect, or something to that effect.  I called the number on my "received" call list and got a recording regarding Stevens Business Services and the hours to call  back etc.  I do not have any past due bills etc., and have no idea why they would be calling.  I am glad I found this website and the postings above so I have some idea what this is all about.  No way would I give any personal information and I would not think twice about contacting the Attorney General's office in a heart beat.  This sounds like a total scam to me.

Steven, your business is great. Other than the fact that your dialer calls people who have already set up arrangements with you.... it makes me not want to pay. Why pay if ur still gonna harass me?

I have gotten 2 calls in the past 24 hours from them  One I answered and got a recording for some guy called "Mr Unknown" saying that this person owed a debt.  i am just not sure, even if I owed them money, that I would bother working with them.

I had a missed call from this number, so I called it back. The first time a distorted message came up, so me being the curious person I am I called back again. BIG MISTAKE, it didn't ring it just hung up. Now my SIM card is not working on my phone. I have had this card for 5 years no problems. Now I call this sketchy number and it is broken. coincidence, I think not. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY PERSONAL INFO> They seem like scam artists.

they called saying we owe money on account with Nat'l Grid under the name of a business that was never ours. had my husbands last 4 ss digits-very scary. not sure how that happens

I get these calls repeatedly, no name is even mentioned in regards to what debt.
I finally called them back and they put me on hold so I hung up.
Wish I could block these calls. It has become very annoying.
I don't owe anyone money, yet they continue to harass me.

You've got to be kidding if you think calling a number is going to break your sim card!

This number called - left a recorded message - I called back to find out what it was - before I could get a sentence out, they were asking me for my social security number.  I refused to give it to them, as they wouldn't even tell me what the call was in regards to.  The woman said, "I'll put that in the notes" and hung up.

DON'T GIVE THIS COMPANY ANYTHING!  I have no debts, I have no credit cards, I own my cars (paid cash) I don't have a house - there is no reason these people should be calling me!

I am always past due with something but the fact that the number is a 900 number and not a 800 number is fishy to me.  Also, I work in Collections and my employees always identify themselves, where they are calling from and what it is regarding  - we want the customer to call back and pay the bill.

After reading these posts and others I will report the number as a scam to my local police department.

I live in MA and received a robo call from this number. I never return robo calls. I thought, with a few exceptions that automatic dialing that originated in MA to other MA numbers was illegal.

Steven's Business Services, calling about an alleged debt, although we have no outstanding debts or missed payments on anything for at least 25 years. Spoke to my wife in a demeaning and abusive manner. Threatened to make additional harrassing calls.

This number keep on call. Never any one at the ther end.

I never thought I would be writing this, but I got a call from this company and the debt was legit. I moved and the gas company never forwarded me the final bill like I asked them to. So it was really Unitil's fault more than anything. The person I spoke with, Darlene, was pleasant and gave me all the information I needed to rectify the matter.

This jokers keep calling my home all day long (my husband works nights and sleeps during the day) asking for some guy that we have never heard of.  We've only had this TN since July and it's unlisted and unpublished!  My husband has told them several times that we do not know who this guy is and to STOP CALLING! Well they continue to cal and call and call so guess what we are doing.  Yep we are filing a complaint with the FTC!!!  Trust me if we knew who this joker was we'd gladly give them the information!!  It's high time these idiots listen to what we are saying!!!

After ignoring several of these automated calls, I called to get them to stop. Spoke with a "Stevens Business Systems" rep who asked me for my SS info. Once I explained that I have no idea who or what this company is and under no circumstaces am I giving my info, the rep hung up on me.  This cannot be ligit. Like most others making comments here, I do not have debt.

This company is brutal............. from what I am reading with regards to other complaints here........ they simply call anybody that has the last name as the person they are trying to collect a debt from and then lie as to how they got your phone number.......... I was told my phone number was a backup number that was given to thier client ( bull ). I called them back and spoke to a supervisor by the name of PATRICIA BRADY, who proceeded to give me another line of crap that by doing a " skip Trace"
they found out that the person they are looking for is my brother. This is impossible because he has never lived with me............. PATRICIA BRADY is simply a liar and these people will do anything un-ethical to get paid the commision.............. in the words of Tony Montana from the movie scarface...... " youy know what a chaza is......... it's a pig that don't fly straight" That is exactly what PATRICIA BRADY AND THESE OTHER SCUMBAGS ARE.............. PIGS!!!

Called and left me a message to call back.  I called back and spoke with a woman named Darlene.  She was very nice and respectful.  It had to do with a co pay from an ER visit last year.  Told them send a bill and I will take care of it.  That was it. Painless.  Maybe ask for Darlene when dealing with this company because she is very nice.

I've been getting daily phone calls from this number! This needs to stop!

just a little information for you.......there are FEDERAL LAWS governing how collection agencies can collect on a debt.......it is called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) you can go to this website and read the laws regarding this at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf
Some points to know...1. The MUST provide you with a itemized copy of all debt they are attempting to collect on.....2. They are not allowed to call your place of employment in this matter as it is a PERSONAL not professional matter.......3. They are not allowed to call a cell phone once you advise them it is a cell and they DO NOT have permission to call it. ......4. You can advise they can not call you on the phone and all contact must be made through the mail....5. they are not allowed to harass or threaten anyone

Most importantly....keep records of the time and date they call, who you speak to (they are required by law to give you their name), any harassing statements made, etc.......you are able to report them to the federal government and they will be fined heavily for their actions.

Yes, I did a short stint with a collections agency and left because I am not able to harass people but I was trained in the laws  :)
