- ElizabethWhy would people stop posting here when the calls have NOT stopped. I owe no one anything anywhere for zip. They need to get bent. I wish there was a way to report them for fraudulent activity because I know I do not owe anyone a thing. Grrr.... frustrating to say the least. Anything to get money off of unsuspecting people. No shame..no worries about the final judgement. Good luck with that because this business and the scum bags that are running it cannot take their money with them 6ft under. I hope they are quite prepared for answering to their respective creator.
Ashame..I used to live near that area. I hear it's turned into a crap hole of drugs and crime. Well, more than what was there when I lived a few towns over. The whole area USED to be a nice place to bring up kids but now it looks like it's just one big money grubbin area in more ways than one. Shame shame shame....
I wish the BBB would just shut this obviously crooked place down. It's been running and taking the wrong people's money long enough. When are we going to get some protection from this business....if you want to call this sham a business?- Caller: 978-458-8336 "Dylan" with Stevens Business Services

- BigA replies to greg s.Since all numbers are recycled, you may end up getting one with even more harassing phone calls. After all, they probably got rid of their number for the same reason you want to get rid of yours.
Now, the first thing you should have done instead of sending them a death certificate, should have been a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. That should have been followed by reports to the following agencies:
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general
Also file a complaint with the Massachusetts Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation: http://www.mass.gov/ocabr/government/oca-agen ... -complaint.html
Then if they persist in calling, you sue them and make them pay you for the harassment. Now, doesn't that sound like a much better plan? - MattThey called least a incomplete message with no info on why they are calling. And said to call them back.

- Reporter| 1 replyHarassing, intimidating, and creepy. Did not leave voicemail identifying themselves as a debt collector (which they are required to do). I called back thinking I missed a call from a client. The man immediately became aggressive when I said I was not comfortable providing personal information without knowing what this was regarding and asked that they mail proof of debt owed and their authorization to collect (as is my right). He then demanded personal information about my minor child (by name!), clearly in an attempt to scare me into continuing the conversation.
While I was asking them to cease calling my phone number, he was talking over me, so I had to raise my voice to get my point across and then hang up. If you're legitimately trying to collect a debt, you should be doing it the right way - by mail first, and not with intimidation and rudeness. They should be ashamed.- Caller: Stevens Business Service

They are not required to leave a voicemail period. Most do not for various legal reasons.Quote:Did not leave voicemail identifying themselves as a debt collector (which they are required to do).
Unfortunately the law was written differently and that was previously posted in this thread.Quote:by mail first
