- EleanorThese Wellcare people repeatedly call my husband to give him "important information", will not give him time to get to the phone, decide I'm him but insist on one piece of info after another to confirm, asking the same questions over & over (I never use the actual word "yes" to anyone on the phone that I don't know but a HUMAN will recognise "that is correct" or similar) until I am literally screaming NO at it, then assures me it will try again & to have a nice day. AND if you call the number back YOU GET THE SAME RECORDED VOICE WITH THE SAME ISSUES! On the rare occasions that he does make it to the phone the same thing happens to him. THIS IS A SCAM & A VERY POOR ONE AT THAT.

- VTI called the number on the back of my Wellcare card to ask about the 978-622-0589 number that keeps calling me and the representative stated it's a outreach call to their clients to check on them to make sure they're taking their medication. I said how to stop them from calling. That representative stated he made a notation on my account that I'm taking my medications and I shouldn't receive any more calls.

- PamSaid they were Wellcare telling me they had important information about my prescription.(I have three) I have not responded and don’t intend to do so. I get my meds from the pharmacy and if they have important information then they can send it to me snail mail. I’m going to call Express Scripts and ask them directly if they have any info that I “need.” I call B.S. on these calls.

- Mary| 1 replyThis number called, I didn't answer, but it stated on my answering machine that it was wellcare. I looked up on the internet and there were several things saying it was a scam. I called Wellcare, and they said it was a legitimate number used to remind people to take their medications. I told them that I have not lost my mind, and I am aware of what to take and when, and asked if I could opt out of these "helpful information" calls, and she said only if I answer the call and follow the instructions to opt out of it. Since the first question requires a 'yes' answer, I guess I will not answer any of their calls.

So, you would rather put up with the calls because you believe an urban myth?Mary wrote:... if I answer the call and follow the instructions to opt out of it. Since the first question requires a 'yes' answer, I guess I will not answer any of their calls.
The "Never say 'Yes'" warnings are urban myth.
There has never been a verified account of anyone being defrauded by this alleged scam.

- TrooperThe same as everyone else. The caller left several VM's of the course of several months claiming they had important information about my prescription. I never spoke with them and certainly never called them back.

- ScottMy wife and I both have Wellcare partD, and recently started getting this robocall a day or two after filling any prescription at our local pharmacy.
At least in our case, the calls truly are coming from Wellcare. But (surprise) they aren't calling to help us. They are calling to convince tell us how great their "mail order prescription service" is, and get us to switch to that instead of our local pharmacy. Why? Because that would increase their profit because it eliminates the administrative fees they pay the local pharmacy for filling each prescription.
I hesitate to label any call from a health insurance company is "legitimate", as the entire industry is effectively a giant scam. But the calls we've gotten are not "phishing" or "id theft". Rather, they are marketing calls from Wellcare trying to reduce our level of service and increase their profit. It is what I refer to as a "legitimate scam", lol.- Caller: Wellcare
