Received call at 3 pm today, Feb 13, 2015. Caller ID said Beverly MA. I live in that area so I answered. No one said anything, but sounded like a call center in the background; lots of people talking. Hung up.

This is scam...has been going on awhile, all over New England...found this on the Yarmouth police dept site:

"SCAM ALERT"
A Yarmouth citizen reported the following today:
"I received a phone call today from someone claiming to be from NSTAR.
The # was from Beverly, MA 978-867-7856
They said they wanted to make sure I received a credit on my account because of the new deregulation laws, but needed me to get my bill and give them the account # and they would remain on the phone and hold for as long as it took because, "they knew I wasn't expecting their call today".
I told them now wasn't a convenient time and I would call NSTAR when I had time and she hung up."

This number dials my answering machine at all hours - even over holiday weekend... up to 8:45pm... woke me a few times - they are scammers pretending to be electricity providers, don't answer.. I don't (ID comes up Beverly, MA)

The only information up where the name of the caller should appear is:  Beverly  MA  and the the telephone #978-867-7856.   I even remember how many calls I received from this # through the months.

I meant to type that I can't even remember how many calls I've received from this # through the months.  They just don't stop calling!

how do I block this number from my phone?

I received a call from this number. When I tried calling back there was no ring tone.

This number calls constantly and disconnects when answered.
