The number doesn't exist. I called from a voip phone where north american calls are free and I don't even believe that 987 is a valid area code. I didn't receive any charges from calling this invalid number but then again I played it safe by calling from a voip phone that had unlimited north american calling.

This is a telemarketer 987-654-3210 got a call today 16 Sep 08 and they left an automated message about condo sales....Delete

Called at 8 pm  third time in two days. Let it go to voicemail left no message.

I just got a call from this number, it is a fake.  If you start at 9 and countdown, that is the number you get: (987) 654-3210.

Anyways, I have the call block feature on my phone, I'll bet that all of you do as well.  When people call from an "unknown number" to a call blocked number, they are given the option to key in their number, but it doesn't have to be their actual number.  So, some clown keys in 9876543210 and they get through.  I'm sure that is what has happened.

I believe the area code 987 is Cozumel, Mexico

I think this may be an attempt to induce people to call back and this number is connected to a 900 line where they charge you $10/min or something like that. Best to check with www.scumbusters.org - they have a library of scams involving telephone callers.

I just received a text from my son and in the call back number field was this number... contacting the cell phone carrier for more info on this one.
How the heck did they get this?

got this call today (feb25, 2009); heard something (voices?) but no response.

Got a call from 987-654-3210. He asked to speak to the office manager. I asked who was calling and he said Ruddy from yellow pages, wanting to confirm our listing. Then he read our business name, address and phone number very fast. I asked again who this was and he said  yellow pages. I asked to have him fax the information so we can approve it and he said he couldn't do that (I could hear a lot of people in the back-ground) and then I hung up. When I dialed the number back I got a recorded message saying it wasn't necessary to dial a "1" and the area code. Hmmmm

Just got a call from that number. I recently lost my job and have been late on credit card payments for Chase and Amex. I wonder if that is related.

Does anyone have their physical address?  I am going to send them an invoice!!!

A call from this number just came in.  No response on the other end.  This is the third time this has happened.

Received a call from this number on my landline.  No one responded when I answered.

Anyone have modem issues after they call.  No one is ever on the other end and then I have to reset the modem.  Number is 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0.  Interesting.
