Calls and hangs up when I answer the phone

caller id spoofing is illegal in the US. one may use caller id blocking, but not spoofing. telemarketers are not even allowed to block caller id.

Rec'd a junk marketing ph call from 987-654-3210 - [4:01 pm] - Did not answer. No msg left. 800notes.com warned do not call back to this insidious, hideous number!

DO NOT ANSWER, DO NOT PICK UP ON THIS PHONE CALL.

I get several calls a day from this number, for my boss, wanting to update my "free" yellow pages listing.  I tell them every time to stop calling, we are not interested, but they just hang up on me.  One guy even told me that he will not do that, real jerk.  I've been receiving these calls for 6 months or more.  And sometimes they call from different numbers.

This guy called the Corporate Office and asked for my boss (CEO) by his first name. He didn't get through - part of my job is to weed out. 4/28/09

Received multiple calls from this number trying to update our Yellow Page listing.  Requesting money to do so!  Refuses to remove us from thier list.  He doesn't speak well and when you call back, it rings busy.

MY Goal is to report every telemarketer call we get. Eat [***] scum bags, you will remain on hold FOREVER and EVER. Welcome to my silence I will never ever pick your line back up.....oopppsss it only took 45 seconds until he hung up SO SORRRYYYY

very rude man with broken english.  he told me that i needed to update my yellowpages listing.  said it was a 2 year paid subsciption expiring today.
he called about 4 times today.

I have in the last 2 weeks been contacted by this same guy of a singles sight called horse and country with exactly the same story . He says his wife was killed in a auto accident. So he is still going. I was very suspicious when he quickly left the site. When he made contact. He also never responds 2 e-mail just chat on yahoo messenger.

Caller identified self as from Yellow Book, with the walking fingers out of New Jersey.  Very hevily accented voice.  Wanted to verify business information to ensure our rep recorded the correct information for our phone book listing.  Wanted to charge us $499.xx for a two year deal.  Asked if was for online listing, denied it was.  Asked him what our Yellow Book acct # was, did not have the info.  Asked him what our reps name was, did not have info.  Asked for his name, replied Eric.  Told me if I wanted to verify info could talk to customer service and number would be provided at the end of the call.  Told him I wanted the number now, twice.  He hung up on me.

This call came to me and said it was from yellow pages.
The call center said they were renewing our business of our church listing.
They quoted me $495. charge for 2 years.
They asked over and over for more types of info.
i refused.
They transfered call to manager who dicided to confirm all info.
This person was american accent.
This person hung up and called back from restricted #.
This person read back all info and again asked for more info.
I refused.
This person quoted back the price of the original caller.
I said I don't have record of paying such an amount for listings.
so I refused.
She then said she would cancel the request
This was around 11:15 central monday( yesterday)
the funny thing is; I have recieved from the same #, 7 calls
and when I try to return the call, a recording says that this is not a working #.

FRAUD

Got 2 calls today, claiming to be with the Yellow Pages, wanting to confirm my company's listings.  I was polite, and said we're not interested, and he got aggressive, asking would we like Yellow Pages to delete our listing. I hung up.

But I'll say this: the people who actually do publish print and online Yellow Pages directories should realize they've got a real problem here. So many scammers claim to be with the Yellow Pages that if a person who really does work with Yellow Pages directories were to call, there'd be no way to verify. I'd hang up on that person, too.

call from 987-654-3210. no answer call 2- 3 times a day never anyone there

We are a church and we get a call a day from this number and they just hang up.  I looked up area code 987 and it says there's no such area code.

Sounded like they were from India and/or Pakistan.  The first one stated that he would put his "supervisor" on the line.  Obviously, the "supervisor" was standing right next to him.  Then there was a "shipping" department.  Female voice sounded American.  Echo on the line.  She said she'd call back due to the "echo." Never called back.
