Got a call from 9122836626 and told me that I am Ashok Chouhan from Delhi Court.
There is a fraudulent and cheating 420 case against you request to Delhi Police kindly arrest them and punish them.

These guys have called me today from 8750803015 with the new idea. He informed me that this call is from Tess Hazari Court New Delhi, there is a case against me and asked to call the lawyer @ 9911115423.

It seems to me, these are the people calling from MTS collection and using illegal collection practices. Because I bought a connection from MTS 6 months back, however the services was not as per the promises. I wrote several emailed and called customer service also, however there was no reply from the email and no engineer visited my place to fix the problem. I hardly used my connection for 5 days. I never received any bill neither in email nor on my address. They started asking to pay for the due bill over the phone, which was refused by me, because I have paid for 1200 rupees for the device which was used for hardly few days.

Overall, I was cheated by MTS company OR MTS sales team from Sector 18 Noida.

The sad part is that, they are using court name for the collecting the money

I see the Indian scammers are now defrauding their own countrymen.  This is out of the FTC's jurisdiction.

i got same as u face it... bt first of all i search the high court directory on google den got the real advocatea name n his mobile number n i call him to confirm dat was a prank call

They are payment collection goons hired by multiple telecom services like reliance, airtel, tata. When ever you recived such calls please take their complete details;

1. Caller Full name.
2. Caller Office address or room no. if they claim they are calling from high court.
3. Don't forget mobile companies can only file case in your jurisdiction only. In my case i received call from supposedly from Delhi High Court and my connection was in Pune.

Don't get panic and file a complain in your area police station.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Even we got call, the person called claims that he works in information department Delhi District Court and his name is Manoj Yadav. He said there is cheating and fraud case against us and he asked us to call goverment lawyer within 10 mins otherwise we will repent. He gave this number to call 08505952186.

I got a similar call today around 12:00 and they shared with me my passport number, 2 address and all other things. they said that they are calling from delhi police and i will get the notice of fraud from Some advocate soon to my organization HR. I am surprised that how they get this information. Please suggest. It is a true call or just a fake call. The call was from 7503225664.

Please see Elspeth's post above and then contact your local authorities or government about this. We cant really help you make it stop - this is something your going to have to do with your phone company and local authorities.
