Anyone have any idea who is calling with CID of "async" that is obviously spoofing as local NPA-NXX numbers?

Wish I knew. I am plagued by them. I keep blocking them but they keep coming up with another number

The one who called me back and threatened me today had Bank of America on their caller ID. 800-732-9194. They also used 386-767-8556 and 386-427-7068 and 386-767-6884 which all seem to be spoofed numbers.

I also get local calls constantly with caller ID async, each number is different, and different spammers - credit card, insurance, etc ... Is this a new mechanism spammers use??

Answer the phone and blast their ears with a whistle, megaphone siren, or security key chain from walmart.

CID Async 1-186-067-8443 this was a call about my VIda/Master cards, something about interest rates, press 1 to be transferred to someone to help fix all my accounts. Said it 3x and I did not respond, then the computer said call rejected . 🙄🤷🏽♀️ So it’s a spoof and soam

auto warranty scam....i told the scammer i have several vehicles & asked him which car he was calling about......i got a dial tone.
On November 28, I got a phone call from 843-280-1295. The CID said "async". I think it is a car warranty scam.

Oh, and people CAN 'scambait' meaning try to waste their time playing along, and that helps a little, but it does also flag your number as one that gets answered.

Why was my first main reply not published, but my secondary comment immediately posted?

Voicemail from (408) 730-3227: "Are mileage and time sensitive they must be extended before your vehicle reaches certain mileage. Again press one to be connected to a warranty specialist." The rest was in Chinese (?) CID = async
