Global Test Market Scam

please tell me how this works out especially since they scam other people i'm sure they may be able to hold you accountable the same way any person disputes a check saying you did not do your part , so in a sense you'd be borrowing money you'd more than likely have to pay back. why not just cash it at their bank?

I received the same check for $1,995, asked me to send then the difference $200 less for myself. Why sending a  money order did not seem sense able as a requirement for secret shopping i don't know , but it struck me oddly. It appeared to me i was being instructed to take a cut and get rid of the money quickly, shady! I just know if the money was gone and even if the bank cleared it, if i don't follow the agreements whomever sent it could dispute the check and hold me responsible. i know i did respond to a secret shopper ad while searching for work, they tried to convince me to pay a administrative fee of $2.95 for a job so i withdrew since then my phone is ringing off the hook! i won a trip a month ago seem like a coincidence  such calls are coming frequently.I did research on them i submitted my info at the mall for a car drawing and in fine print they were on the form, scam!  the check spelled my name wrong i called the number to inquire further and was hung upon 10 minutes into the call by a calm individual named Joseph Coring, when i mentioned thinking this was a scam he hung up and kept forwarding my phone calls. this must be very intricate scam because the banks should not receive clearance and i highly doubt that scam artist would dispute any one trying to rob them, they seem to just have it planned out to scam you! first the check clears within days then the bank gets information later. I bet they even use this as a resource to refine their technique because my packet was sent in a way that voids the previous comments, yet still questionable! i've been unemployed for a month near going crazy, got a job a week ago submitted my drug test, no call back yet,was so nervous i felt desperate and insecure and  wanted this to be real, but reality sets in nothing comes this easy, except for  test of strength, God will bless you, stay strong don't  dig deeper holes, a change will come, and  this too shall past!

I to. Received a check today..925..I tried to contact the Canadian Rep.but my metro PC. Phone doesn't cover that area.. so..I became curious ..and. check on line. And found this scam article ..thanks

Scam scam scam. Thank god the teller at my bank was on his heels. He was just trying to start a conversation about what i did for the money. I explained to him it wasnt all mine, he became suspicious and looked into it further. Told me he wasnt finding anything about them in his database. not to mention the check is signed but no name was printed underneath the signature. Do not get SCAMMED my fellow Americans!

I knew it was a scam immediately so I called the number listed and asked to speak to a "manager" when he asked me why I said " So I know whether or not to call my lawyer" he said he would transfer me then hung up. now my number is blocked from them or something because when i try to call now it says something along the lines of " the customer you are trying to reach..."
its' kinda crap. still think i could cash their check @ walmart for 3 dollars? lol

I think there are 2 Global Test Markets.. I have done surveys on line for them for some time and earned $50.00. They seem to be either out of the STATE of WASHINGTON or based out ogf Canada, not CT.

I received a check today for$2400.00..called the 800-445-3178 listed on letter for Global Opinion Surveys was disconnected...no return address...no metered postage as companies use to send mail...I called the 647-831-2371 to ask the Survey Coordinator what was name to use to wire the money as I suspected it was a scam..He would not identify himself, just wanted to know if money was deposited...told me to call back when check was deposited....such a scam......I hate scams and liars.

Good idea, except you must DEPOSIT...lol....what a scam.

Well I got one of these cheques today also.  Address is a hotel in Toronto, 1 King Street, odd to say the least.  Who ever sent $995.20 with instructions to call get infor before cashing cheque.   Think I will hand the whole thing over to the RCMP fraud dept.

But here is the real joke, the RCMP frauld devision has a major office 3 blocks from my house.  Guess they should have done their research like I did.

It's not unusual for crooks to use a "sound-alike" name to give their scam the air of legitimacy.   It's also very common in the bogus charity telemarketing schemes.    They use a sound-alike  name of a legitimate charity to trick you.
