What did you tell them when you replied to the message?  If you gave them your bank account number or credit card number close the account.  If you gave them your social security number assume they are trying to steal your identity.  Do like it says here.  https://800notes.com/arts/z1CaI5oZiADWYgjKBNYoqg

If the only thing you gave them was your cell phone number and email address the only thing they can do is call you, text you, and spam you.  Ignore everything they send.

800 notes did not send you any text! Nokia did not send you any text! There isn't really any such lottery! It never existed to begin with! A thief sent that text to you and also everyone else! Just delete it, do not respond at all!!!

This is an AVANCE FEE FRAUD SCAM!!! NOT A PROMOTION/LOTTERY!

    http://conversations.nokia.com/2010/02/22/nokia-lottery-is-a-scam/

"The scam, known as an advance fee fraud, nearly always follows the same format. Users get a text or an email saying they’ve won in the Nokia Lottery and that they need to send money, or airtime vouchers (which is like money) in order to receive their winnings."

    Nokia doesn't do lotteries!!!

    http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/03/06/nok ... eware-the-scam/

"There have been a ton of reports recently that scam artists are once more sending out hoax SMS and emails, purportedly from Nokia, that offer some sort of money if one were to respond, faux lottery style. Sorry folks, those are not coming from us. We don’t do money lotteries, so beware the scam. If you see the message, then know Nokia Lottery is a scam."

    http://conversations.nokia.com/2010/02/22/nokia-lottery-is-a-scam/

    • "Nokia is not indulged in any lottery scam and any message claiming to be from Nokia is just a scam"
    • "by replying, or following the requested actions, all personal details of an individual could be leaked out and misused."
    • "some [who responded have]  either [wound] up loosing money or even vital personal information"

    http://www.spamfighter.com/News-17545-Nokia-C ... ottery-Scam.htm

    • "UK Nokia Promotion email is a scam and customers should delete this email immediately."

    http://www.techjaws.com/beware-of-the-uk-nokia-promotion-scam/

    • "It's important to note that any real people and / or legitimate organizations whose actual names or other details appear in these scam e-mails have absolutely no connection with this scam!"

    http://www.419baiter.com/_scam_emails_2/zz11/ ... 12-ballot.shtml

And any posts by someone using the "PROMOTIONS AWARDS DEPARTMENT" (anything similar) ... is a shill who doesn't like it when challenged and spams this thread with bs to try and 'bury' the truth so others won't see it. But what they are actually doing is showing how infantile they really are in a sense what they are doing is throwing a temper tantrum like some undisciplined spoiled child and their posts should be ignored!!!

Its a lie.  There is no prize.  The message was sent by a thief.  He will trick you into giving him money.  He will never give you any money.

All Nokia e-mail addresses end with @nokia.com.  Any address that does not end with @nokia.com did not come from Nokia.

Delete the message.  Do not reply to it.

Here is the official information from Nokia:

    Its a lie.

All Nokia addresses end with @nokia.com.
nokiapayout@live.com is not a Nokia address.

I recieved a message to claim my promo

    Delete it!

That text did NOT come from Nokia! nokia doesn't even have such a promo and have stated so themselves! It was sent by a thief to everyone.

Junk text that is also a variation of the 419 (Nigerian email) scam --- it involves advance fee fraud!!!

Do NOT respond to it in any way! Just delete it!!'

No one's a winner! Nokia didn't send that tect, scammers did! It's an advance fee fraud scam! Delete the text and do NOT call that number!!!

For one thing it's a 900 number. There's lots of scams involved with such:

    http://www.spamlaws.com/900-scams.html

"the majority of these numbers you find online or on TV commercials are elaborate scams designed to steal money from the unknowing.

When you think about, these scams prompt instant red flags and are based on profits.  Any 1-900 number is a pay-per call service.  This means that you are required to pay for the phone call based on the amount of time you remain on the line"

In a sense, there's a double scam involved! Just delete the text!!!!
