You certainly paint a very different image than the one I had when I posted. I saw it as a character off of "My Name is Earl" posting after one beer and/or one joint too many. Didn't realize it was the tinfoil hat brigade.
And what about "c.j." the Ba'al Zvuv who has time to sit around reading our posts and passing judgement, does this nimrod "have a life"? Is working scams from a boiler room your idea of a life c.j. ? Just wondering...
Ah well, since I am cut to the quick by c.j.'s incisively vapid commentary, I suppose seppuku is my only graceful option out of my paroxysmal laughter at this pathetic little keeper of catamites, now self appointed as sole arbiter of the worthy and unworthy.
Thats not correct. I put my cell phone on the Do Not Call list the day I got the number. I get almost no junk calls - lately its been a political call every 3-4 weeks, one or two sales calls/year.
True, the government doesn't spend a lot of money enforcing the law. But many of the worst violators are located outside the US, out of the reach of US law enforcement.

My TV is connected to my phone line. I constantly get messages that say: "Incoming Call - caller ID not available" but no matter how fast I answer, there is always a dial tone and also the phone never rings when I get these type of calls. Normally, caller ID works fine & there is someone on the other end when I answer the call, even out of area, private caller etc..
It is trivial to do this if you know even a little bit about telephony. But it is more effective to use random numbers in the hope that you will luck onto a state where someone's long lost relative lives. And no, you don't use a "spoof card" or a web site to do it.
It is illegal to use a deceptive caller id stream, but only if it is done with the expectation of gain.

Sometimes the incoming call could be a glitch, but most of the time its done on purpose by cowards hiding the caller id. The same goes with calls that show up as Out of Area. Out of Area calls could be a technical glitch or spoofed on purpose.
Daaang... LOL.. How long did it take you to compose this?
I get these calls too. Drives me nuts. But I do want some of those ninja super powers.

I think my issue is my Phone. I have a Vtech phone and ever since I got it (about 6 months), my caller ID would work here and there. I know that several times that it would just say incoming call, that it was my wife or family member calling. I hooked up my old phone and the caller ID would again, work with no problem. So don't just assume that it is an unwanted call and make sure to look into the fact that it could just be a bad land line phone you bought. Interference where the phone is plugged into the phone line could also be an issue. Try and test all other things before assuming it's not a call you don't want to receive. I'm just not going to buy a VTech phone again, since I've read a lot about people having the same issue.

Just received the same call and there was a message left....I live in Boston and it was a political call for Elizabeth Warren, running against Scott Brown for US Senate....A recorded message telling me how great she is....

In the last few days we have been getting calls from "Incoming Call". At first I ignored them as usual, but it started happening a lot so I tried to answer. No matter how fast I picked it up, dialtone. Then sometimes when I'd hang up it would call right back immediately. No way to block these calls with Verizon because there is no number registering on the caller ID. :(
There's no answer, so whats the point of answering fake calls? Let it show whatever on your caller id. Or if you have time to toy around with them, pick up the call and let them hear the daily news.
