The caller ID just displays incoming call, nothing else

Probably.  I had VTech phones at one time and they were the biggest piece of junk I ever owned.  Dropped calls, static all the time so that I had to repeatedly make the call again or ask the people to call me back.

VTechs have been poorly regarded for a long time. Every time I saw one it felt cheap and sounded worse. They are also known to spew RF interference at other gadgets. I expect that cheapness was the reason they were so numerous in the retail stores. Easier to sell to unwitting masses at a discount and encourages repeat business when the things break.

I just received a call like this but it left a message. It was a recorded red alert from the county I live in.

I've been using VTechs for decades. Zero problems except replacing batteries after a few years. One of their greatest assets is seamless base station integration with most series-connected call blockers.

this caller called 4 times this weekend. My computer is infected and causing their server issues.
I told him that I am doing this on purpose, because he has been trying to access my PC. a India software sale scam.

I just got this for the very first time today and immediately hit the block button.

I have been getting several a month that I know about since if you do not answer them they do not show up in the missed call logs (don't know how many when I am not home). The ones I have answered have all been telemarketers.

I have the same thing, except instead of the message being something about credit cards, it is noise like something out of a horror game. It happens like twice a day.

I received 2 back to back today with caller ID only showing incoming call. Nothing in the call log showed the phone rang. I was wondering if it had to do with the "new silent calls" which are just supposed to go to your voice mail. I do not have voice mail and use an old answering machine and was wondering if that had any effect since it could not find any voice mail. Since it has been happening more frequently something is causing it. Since when I get calls with no CID information it comes up no number.
