    to me
    Hello,

I will also use google translator in case you don't know english.
The price for the car is 4000 €.
The car is located in London, UK. It is keept there in my garage.
I want to let you know the car has German papers ( German license plates "Fahrzeugschein" , "Fahrzeugbrief" ) with TUV certificate and all the taxes paid including COC ( certificate of conformity ). Comparing it with other cars, the price is a little bit low and I am aware of it, that's why I need to explain it to you: it has the steering wheel on the left side making driving hard for me in United Kingdom, so I have to to sell it in another country.  I got the car for few months ago following my divorce.I'm not an expert on cars but I can ensure you that it is in perfect conditions and it never had any problems with the engine, it has never been crashed and the maintenance was made by authorized service, the service book confirms it. I would very much like to make this deal in person, but it will be very hard because I have a lot of work to do in Norway ( i have a dental cabinet here). Don't worry, the car remained in London. It is hard for me to skip work now, so I need insurance that you will come to London, in case you decide you want to buy the car. So if you are interested in purchasing my car, please let me know.

    Best Regards,

This is the email from darrennedler1971   @   hotmailcom
He posted an very tempting offer on a romanian website.. I was very suspicious from beginning, and thank's to you, I am convinced now.

Now this makes sense. On another thread we (another user and I) were talking about these Debt Collectors that try to scam using threats, and now I see why they say Western Union.....

    Harder to trace it.

I am the new owner of a convenience store (GAS station) in South Florida, Western Union was in the process of setting me up as an agent to do money services. My account was never used , the day that Western Union tech support set the acct up, we got another call from Fraudsters that remotely wired $4600 into separate pre paid cards...we immediatelty reported the incident to the Police and Western Union. Through their agent we were told that the account is now in collections and that the collection department is being outsourced. We were trying to make arrangements to pay the money, but to no avail. It seems that they are hell bent on not only sending us to collections, putting the debt on our credit as well as we were told to borrow the money to pay them back. Western Union is a major part of business because of the neighborhood and location of the store. We did not want to raise any red flags since we would like to stay on good terms. But since there seem to no other options, I would like to take this to the next level. As a new business owner , money is very tight right now. I am sure these companies are insured for this lost, I am not. It is very unfair the way they run their business and have left us no option.
    PLEASE HELP.

You were told, that the account is now in collections ???
    You were just told???
    Do you have some paperwork?
    Who is that 'agent'?
Something is fishy to me, but I feel sorry, you have to go thru this.

    Hello,

still got the 2007 07 TOYOTA RAV4 2.2 XT-R D-4D 5D 135 BHP DIESEL  for sale at the price of £2640. The car is in excellent condition, garage kept and accident free. The mileage is real and I never had any problems with the engine. The car looks and works just perfect. I bought it from UK and it is still registered here. We live in the Northern part of United Kingdom, in a beautiful sea-side city called Thurso.
We are a nice couple of pensioners (I have 64 and my beloved wife is 63 years old) and don't use the car so often. We love to spend our time on the road but now we use to travel by plane, so a car is no more useful for us. Also we sold our house  and bought a big farm here in Thurso. If you are really interested we are ready to make a trip to England and meet you personally. You can take the car for a test-drive and any kind of inspection.

Rachel - I've had exactly the same email. I realised as soon as I had the reply that it was a scam and am now going to play along until I either annoy him enough to stop emailing or he says something which gives him away.

This is the email exchange - please read from the bottom up!!!

Ridiculous. Half the stuff makes literally no sense - and it was advertised by a company based in Leeds!

    ...........

    Hello again,

Thank you for prompt response.  Please find the photos attach in the email. As I told you the car is in perfect condition and has no technical problems. It has done only 50116 miles, there are no visible scratches and no rust (corrosion). I like to keep my car in excellent condition so I don't think you will find anything wrong with it.
The car is registered in UK and has valid plate numbers. It comes with MOT and Road Tax ( valid till 11/2013). I have all the original papers including full service history.
As I already announced you we are in Thurso now (the car is here as well). If you are interested in a test-drive and a full inspection I am ready to meet you.

We can meet you next week Friday or Saturday morning in Preston .Let me know if you agree so I can start looking for a Hotel in the area.

    Regards

    Hi,

Could you give me some details about any tax or MOT on the car at the moment? If you could send a couple of photos too that would be brilliant.

Thurso is a long way away from me - I live on the south coast near Bournemouth. If I were to buy the car I imagine we would meet up half way or thereabouts?

As you have an internet connection you presumably have a landline - could you call me? It's 07446 ---044 . After speaking with you I would be happy to continue the rest of this exchange by email.

A Toyota Rav4 with that mileage for that price is an extremely good deal and one I would be happy to travel for so I hope this deal works out!

    Kind regards,

    Shay Marriott

Please tell us where do you live? I am sure that we will find a nice city in England to arrange a meeting, a region acceptable for us and for you in the same time. We have the faith that this can be a good deal!

P.S. I appreciate if we can continue our conversation by e-mail. The mobile signal is poor here, we have to walk over 2 miles for a good phone call.

Thank you and let me know,
     John

    Hi John,

I was wondering whether your Toyota Rav4 is still available? If so does it have any tax or MOT remaining? If so I would be interested in putting down a deposit for collection this week.

    Kind regards,

    1)  This is a message board for discussing scam and spam phone calls. No one here can help you get your money back.

    2)  Western Union works in cash only.  They do not take money out of your bank account.  If money is being taken from your account its being taken by some other company.  Based on your post I suspect the name of that other company includes "Western" or "West".

    3)  Contact your bank.  Tell them that your money is being taken.  They can stop it.  They will probably have to change your bank account number.

I got scammed by the SAME guy and this post started from April 2012. - and I feel so embarassed.

This was a different situation but I figured it's the same guy because after realizing that I got scammed, I found this link http://reportcraigslistscams.com/xzclf/1/posts/1_Reported_Craigslist_Scams/1__/5797_EUR400_1br_Nice_1_bedroom_apartment_in_the_heart_of_Trastevere_Via_Luciano_Manara_.html

I was looking for a place in Milan, Italy. The person, "Pereira" wanted to make sure I had the first month rent fee and the deposit fee 850 euros. He said he just wanted the receipt under MY name and talk to his "lawyer" to make sure the transfer had been through. After I sent him the receipt through Western Union (I had no idea about Western Union scam until NOW), he sent an email saying it has been refunded and that I should try again. He sounded real, talking about contract and keys!

Just like you guys, I'm wondering how it was possible for him to take the money out without my ID and my presence.

It sounds like the SAME guy as you guys are dealing with, or may be even partners, and I feel so dumb for letting this happen. I wish I knew more about scam through Western Union.

I filed a complaint to ic3.gov to make sure this scam doesn't continue (because it seems like no one has reported this to the government!).

You gave the scammer the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).  That is all that is necessary for anybody to access the money, anywhere.  The scammer may or may not be in Italy.  The scammer certainly uses different names.  The Western Union employee should have asked you if you were sending the money to a relative.  You answered "yes", didn't you?

You may have been subjected to something like scam  #16, as described at
    http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts.html

That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive.  (And, a link to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps is there).

Everybody keeps saying how western union only did what they were asked. I got scammed for sending money to a stranger for a purchase of a car as a deposit in Montreal. The guy picked up the money in France apparently. I never gave the guy the MTCN and he still managed to get the money. I was assured by the clerk that the guy would not be able to pick up the money if he doesn't have the MTCN. It is always a western union procedure to have the MTCN when you pick up money. Don't get me wrong, I was stupid to send the money but how could western union not be at all rsponsible if they don't follow there own procedure and the procedure required by the law wich is ID and the MTCN

Hello. I was a victim of a scam as well.
I wanted to buy a phone, Samsung Galaxy S5, and I came across a website called tnaaa.com and there is a same copy of it at jceee.com. The prices on the website are much cheaper then anywhere else. I read a few comments here and there and it seemed legit. I ordered the phone, paid through western union and waited for the confirmations that they got the money and that they sent out my order. The money was picked up but I never got the confirmation that the phone was sent out. I paid $380 buck to uncle sam. I wonder if they can track my order and get back to my bank account and take more money or how does that work? Please help/explain. Thanks
