The initial commentor Donielle may not be a "sir", was long gone over two years ago, had posted as a fraud victim, and would never understand what in hell you want anyway. Neither do I, for that matter. No one reading this is going to send you anything. Whatever "sir" you want is probably sending you the same nothing if you gave money to a stranger.

If Western Union actually deducted the money from your credit card, debit card, checking account and your the transaction in you bank account is NOT in PENDING status (meaning Western Union got paid), contact your bank (or card company) immediately and file a dispute claim. The bank will be able to see the charge on your account and will submit the claim for you. Once the dispute is filed, the bank will conduct an investigation. While they are conducting the investigation, most banks will put your money back into your account. This is a temporary courtesy to you. In the If the banks investigation reveals fraudulent activity, you keep the money and you can also file a law suit. If the investigation reveals no fraudulent activity, the bank will take the money back that they placed into your account. I have been 100% successful using my banks dispute process. The advantage is the money fraudulently taken from my account is put back until the bank concludes its investigation.
Hi! Just the same happened to me by flat rental in Germany, Bremen. I did not give her/him my MCTN code but somehow my money was taken. I think administrators of Western Union might be included in this because they can see your transaction details.
Why would ANYBODY give 3k to someone THEY DO NOT KNOW??????

The same thing happened to me with Anders Rasmussen. He scammed me out of $3000 and will not return it. Please do not give him any money.

Hello to everyone ? So everyone makes mistake . Somebody stole my money and the story is same as your all. But what have you done? Did police catch these [***] ? Did western union give that money or what ?
Hi thanx for knowing that such things are happening, I went through that as well, this guy called himself Robert, i had to send money to him through Western Union as well. But stupid as I am... i fell again for another scam, this time calling me telling me to send money through capitec, so that they can finalize my payment... hope all these scammers pay for what they are doing to us..this happen two years back as well
I was in the same situation. I didn't send the money because it sounded sketchy to me so I looked this guy up and found that he has been involved with a few scams. Thank you for sharing your story!

Well I got my money stolen from me 2days ago I'm trying to get it back stupid man sent me His name phone number and the state I'm going in the morning n do a police report so I can get it back
Methinks that you have gotten a lesson in how not to be stupid with money, something my 8 year old grand daughter would teach you for a fee. Other than that, I wish you luck, for it is unlikely that you will see your money again. Famous quote from the movie Forrest Gump "stupid is what stupid does".

Once I responded to email asking me to send money to a friend in distress, accident, etc. I gave a fake MTCN number (any 10 digits will do) and told him the amount. Then I reported the email and the fake MTCN number I gave to spoof@westernunion.com. I was hoping Western Union will be able to catch the person who will try to claim money using that number. Western Union didn't seem to have that ability, but should at least have a way to alert their agents around the world to take a photo of the crook trying to claim the non existent money. The guy emailed me quickly : "there is no money" and asked me to check the MTCN no. if I gave him the correct number. I gave him another fake MTCN again hoping that WU can try to catch him. I got a reply hat I should not attempt to deal with fraudsters. I'm not sure if calling their US phone 800-448-1492 will make any difference.

Hey I responded to an inbox from Facebook stating how how I can turn a few hundred bucks into thousands. so I had to go to western union and send some money twice but a little while later I decided to cancel everything. And then I had to pay a fee to do that which I did but the person I sent all my money to isn't responding or answering the phone.. I feel so worthless and depressed
Don't beat yourself up over this - By coming here and posting your honest experience (something not many people have the guts to do) you probably are saving other people from being tricked. I admire you for coming forward and sharing what happened. You are writing from your heart, and your message will resonate with other people, much more than warnings posted by someone like me.
Please remember, you were tricked by professionals who scam for a living. You can take this as a learning, and move on from here, and do know that your post will make a difference to someone else, further on down the road. God Bless and stay smart and be safe.
