I just received a call from Shawn Smith saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me for miscalculations for a 6 year period..  Heavy Indian accent. phone number 202-464-2549.  He did not have the correct spelling of my name nor my correct mailing address, but said a letter had been mailed to me on August 2 and they had no reply, so were going forward with lawsuit. Wanted my cell phone number.

    This site... replies to disco_y2k
...by its very nature, is for people to REPORT unknown/spam/scam calls.  To ask people to "quit posting about these calls and complaining" is, at best, disingenuous.

    You are funny!!!
I am not going to call ANYBODY, especially not some spammers in India or some other boiler room.
No discussion with them whatsoever! They are not businesses!
What I do, I am not answering unknown or suspicious calls, or I am reporting them (I used to)...what else...nothing...and guess what, I don't have such calls anymore.
You are or naive or one of them.

"Wiser Now" isn't.  >>> They just changed number and called next am 9:48 the new number is 202-666'2975. Add them to your list. <<<

No, YOU add them to the "list."  https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-202-666-2975

We aren't your personal secretaries here, and we don't help people who are too lazy to help themselves.  See, for example:

You look to be at least semi-literate and capable of entering things into a computer web site, so click on that last URL and get a sense of what this web site is all about.  In particular, read my post (which the URL points to) and the next post following it.

this happened to me this morning. I would confess to being a pretty smart person....UNTIL THAT CALL.  It was horrible and when I figured out they "had" me I felt like a totaly idiot. BUT THEY ARE AMAZINGLY GOOD.  Heck I was drving myself to the police station to turn myself in!!!!  lol

202-241-0373 was the number that called me.  IF he wouldn't have started cussing me, and being really rude, he would have gotten money out of me!!!!!  It was the strangest thing I have ever been through.

thank goodness the banks were close for the holiday

Not just "feeling stupid" said: >>> 202-241-0373 was the number that called me. IF he wouldn't have started cussing me, and being really rude, he would have gotten money out of me!!!!! It was the strangest thing I have ever been through. <<<

Why don't you give me some credit, instead?
    https://800notes.com/forum/ta-ad9c4e9d4e53b60/all-calls-from-202-241-xxxx

The trouble is that people posting in the present thread have to search through 2732 posts of redundant, uninformative posts of "please add these 10,000 different numbers to your list" to find the number they are looking for. And the people who demand "add this number to your list" are lazy people -- probably the last people you would want to trust as to what numbers are or are not used for scamming.

And while you are at it, why don't you post the number that called you in the thread in which it belongs?  Just enter 2022410373 in the PHONE NUMBER SEARCH that's located on the right side or at the bottom of EVERY PAGE ON THIS WEBSITE.  (Whether it is at the right or the bottom depends on what device you are running your browser on.)  Here, I'll make it even easier for you by telling you where the PHONE NUMBER SEARCH takes you:

    To all boiler room scammers....
I get the picture. All they want to do is call and email forever, this will never be a face to face encounter (thankfully they are in a boiler room in a different country spoofing 202 area codes). Thats fine. I will always have internet and phones. It doesn't matter. I can move on with my real life. It's not going to affect or influence my life. They can continue to communicate in their insignificant way from their boiler room forever. What difference does it make? Nothing. It's not like I will read off my credit card numbers on the phone? All these boiler room scammers do is spoof and spoof 202 numbers and call to extort money from unsuspecting people. Everyone should get a call blocker.
