I was told the actual telemarketer that did the calling was out of Florida, not NYC. The problem is locating his assets so they can be seized.

Also it looks like Eitan KImelman is just some guy in New York that sells prepaid phone cards. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with CID 4U or robocalling. JD has successfully tracked down the guys behind this crap.

On February 20th, 2013, CallerId4U, Inc. used the Federal Trade Commission’s official seal in conjunction with an advertisement for their telemarketing services, which was posted on their Facebook page.
Although this seems to imply an endorsement from the FTC, the services advertised do not appear to have any connection to the FTC’s Do Not Call compliance program for telemarketer Service Providers.
Sweet, I just ordered a book on how to sue them. Happy to see how your suit goes. I've had dozens of calls from them, I'll take $500 each.

I hate scams
I appreciate JD's work on this. It's time consumers got very aggressive on this issue not just with our policy makers and executive powers but also with finding out and exposing these people. The more information made public, the easier the job will be on the feds to prosecute, and the more consumers will be made aware to stop falling for these schemes.
I doubt the schemes will never die, but the abuse of the technology and services has to stop completely. The scams are bad enough, but it also allows the same people to harass and make criminal threats on any random person in the US. Any company or individual (legitimate or not) allowing this behavior must be held accountable.

Callerid4u has a compliance dept., but it is next to useless sice the caller (or a new caller) just calls 2-4 weeks later with a new number.
I just called the number provided for Paul Maduno at 310-251-5420. The person I spoke with said that the company provides phone numbers to telemarketers (as already described on this board) and some of those numbers have been hijacked. So he told me if, for example, you receive a call from a number that says "MARKETING FRAUD" or "SPOOF" or "TELEMARKETER" this is because CallerId4U has changed the caller ID of that phone number to notify you that you should not answer the phone. Now I don't know if this is just the party line for the company to protect their hide (probably) and I bet this company is the reason I received 4 telemarketing calls soliciting a credit card processing service, but point is if you do get a call with the weird caller IDs mentioned above definitely do not answer. Hopefully this company is legitimately trying to reign in the abuse to avoid getting into more trouble.

That's ridiculous. If they know the number is being used by a telemarketer, they should pull the number from that telemarketer - duh. If they would simply shut down the number, it wouldn't be a problem. The fact that they know the telemarketers are breaking the law and do nothing about it just shows what scumbags they are. The numbers have not been "hijacked" - Callerid4u only markets to telemarketers. Read JD's blog, he's got copies of their agreements and everything.
I would bet that IF they ever do assign those IDs to any number, it's because they haven't been paid by their telemarketing customers and they want to try to hurt their success rate.
"Legitimate" is a word that should never be used in relation to this company. ;-)

Just to be clear, the above individual posing as "JD" is not the same person who's published the facts about CallerId4u's business activity.
This is easily verified by examining the IP address of the poster. It is under the FBI's jurisdiction to investigate threats communicated via the internet.
This will be obvious to anyone who's read my earlier posts, as my only goal is to help make consumers aware of CallerId4u's activities and help them direct their complaints to the proper regulators.
In fact, it is very likely these offensive posts were made by a representative associated with Callerid4u, as they have previously pointed to bogus "threats of violence" as a pretext to remove posts from the Internet.

O. My. God. I have been following TCNP, this site and the Pacific Telecom Communications Group posting for many months. This is because I keep receiving unwanted calls from CallerID4U and Pacific Telecom Comm Group numbers. The conclusion I have have come to is that both companies are shoddy, fly-by-night, operations that make money by exploiting cracks in the law. Further, they make money by causing the suffering of others, plain and simple. These are scumbags of the the lowest order. It seems clear now that someone associated with CallerID4U (or sympathetic to CallerID4U, but that seems unlikely), is impersonating other posters on this site in an attempt to discredit them and their valiant attempts to bring these vermin down. The fact that they would do this, the nature of the threats that they make and the grammar used gives insight into just what kind of "people" they are. These are coarse, poorly educated criminals. The fact that they are resorting to this sort of behavior must mean they are getting desperate. To the REAL JD: keep up the good work. If they are so stupid that they think that people can't see right through this kind of ploy-that makes them dumber than a bag of hammers. It is only a matter of time before they go down in flames...
