i was approved for a payday loan and was told there was a $200 application and processing fee! it was my $200 that i sent through money gram while on the phone with the representative. the money was never placed in my account and there is no way to reach the company. I now have no food and my two year old daughter will receive nothing on her birthday. Just $200 that they scammed my family for is making us go hungry! I was trying to do better by my family but [***] like this just [***] our life up!

It is against federal law to offer a loan or line of credit over the phone, but require upfront money first.
All such calls or offers are 100% scams.
The reason they want you to wire or pre-paid money card the "fee" is because they know it is untraceable and unrecoverable. It is an easy way to steal money.
Never, under no circumstances, wire or pre-paid money card funds or card info to anyone other than someone you personally know. There is no way to recover the funds or to prove you sent the money to the correct party.
Most all wire transfer or pre-paid card services boldy post the reasons why you should never send money to strangers.

I have been receiving voicemails for a week now saying that I have been approved for a $5000. loan and that I need to call back to 217-215-0692. Then when I call, I get a voicemail box that says they are experiencing high call volume and I should leave my name and a good number to reach me. I left a message for them to remove my number and to NOT call me ever again!

I filled out a loan app online 2 days ago and this morning USApaydayloans.net called me to advise my loan was approved for $7000.00, and how much would i need.I told him (indian accent ),i would need $2000.he asked what it was for,I told him i needed a small car for work.he said i was approved but i needed to go to walmart and buy a RELOAD PACK card or greendot card for $212.00 as proof that i can repay the 'loan'. hmmm, I have to send them money to get money? ok that sounds suspect,so i took the phone number they called from :+1 206 201 2445 and did a reverse look up trace,to find out that they were a SCAM,when i clicked on the email address at the bottom of their email it went to a different website, super payday loans and the phone number was very close 206 201 2443 -the last number was a 3 and their ph number has a 5. needless to say, i didnt fall victim to their ploy..DONT FALL FOR THIS SCAM ! please do some research before you make a move and give away your precious $$ ...these people need to be stopped !

You can be sure that wherever you put your information for that loan is selling ti to every criminal out there.  Payday loans are nothing but scams to steal money from people that can't afford it to begin with.

You're nodding "me too" for a specific set of details in a rare story of local police helping victims combat their scammers on the phone. You also think a response is forthcoming from around 2.5 years in the past. Finally, citing an Indian accent whittles down the likely suspects to maybe ninety-some percent of the field of criminal online payday lenders.

Maybe you should read more and comment less for the time being and try to learn something.

Any single time you receive a call from a payday loan company asking for money upfront, it is NOT LEGIT!  If you're applying for a payday loan/installment loan, etc you are not required to put up money especially sending through the forms of western union, moneygram, walmart, etc.  This is an immediate red flag!

    Sure!
I take payday loans often ... I never paid "prepayment"! Choose only worthy companies. Some large companies give the first loan without any commission (not always).

These callers definitely are scams. But just know there is also a business here in Aurora, IL called USA Payday Loans. They surprisingly are very fair. My first loan only had $1.00 interest for $120. Its been a while, but I called to get a 2nd loan $200. The interest I'll pay back is about 10%. Thats a little high, but very fair. Its important to let people know about good businesses as well as the scammers. Sharing honest businesses is an equal service. Good to know about the callers though! Thanks.
