Reporting International Scams
- BigA replies to JordanIt is a very sad state of affairs in the US when people do not have the simple ability to actually and even more importantly, understand what they are reading. For instance, this was a forum thread on where to report international scams. Yet you posted some ridiculous remark about someone should stop calling "Jordan". Obviously there is only one person named "Jordon" in the whole world, or maybe in your world, and they should Know who to stop calling.
- TormentingTelemarketers replies to MidNYteStormThe only way you can shut them down is to take the money they have (FTC action/lawsuits) or keep them from making any more money (keep their agents from making sales). You have to starve the beast.
- TormentingTelemarketers replies to PugmomI also don't usually hit this site first by landing on the home page, either. Generally, it's because I've typed a number in a search bar and nearly always get taken to the correct number page via internet search results. So I understand where you are coming from on that.
However, there are many comments showing up on forums where people are posting off-topic rants about some random number where it's highly doubtful they got here via a search regarding that number. Or they are doing some other search ("complain about phone calls" or whatever) and click on the first link that shows up. That's where BigA (and others) try to "gently encourage" them to go to the rightful place. Not that those efforts are entirely fruitful, since there's never a lack of folk than repeat the error, likely never to return to see any followups. Frustration ensues.
Yes, at the top of the home page, there's a nice big search box. However, I'd wager if you looked at analytics of this site, most of the time people aren't starting at '/' as their landing page. - Tammie replies to TamianthIts not their fault they are listing these scams under this thread. I was just on a site that gave this address for reporting these scammers so please don't be so hateful to your fellow Americans. Thank you

And, you were unable to understand their import?
BUT, you believed the 202 area code was an "International scam", so came to this thread to complain about the quality of posts here.
