Just got a call from a woman with eastern indian accent telling me my computer was having difficulties communicating with satellite and she wanted to help me. She said she needed access to my computer so she could fix it.  I told her there was nothing wrong with my computer and I hung up. The number she called from was 859-846-5070. Scammer/Hacker!!!

First, your post has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.  Second, if you had taken the time to put that number in the search box and gone to the proper thread you would have found 2 pages of reports.  Instead, your post will do no one any good and you know nothing more than what you came here with.

The point of this thread was to announce a revamp of an online portal which gathers complaints of cross-border fraud. It's done that and discussion should be ideally confined to the ICPEN site and maybe those like it. Instead it's soon become a catchall for "Reporting International Scams" in the wrong place, as though 800Notes is part of law enforcement, attracting casual users who take thread titles much too literally. Quite likely the same users have ignored the ICPEN site without a hint of irony. I'm going to try in vain to set a better example before I politely demand the locking of this thread.

From the October press release: "Econsumer.gov originally was launched in 2001. The new and improved website has a fresh look, is easier to use, and is reader-friendly on tablets and smart phones." I guess all they did was add some "swipe" anim effects and rework the layout to scale to smaller displays, as part of the overall irritating trend to cater only to people who use the internet with their thumbs.

I tried the site from my rusting desktop. My older browsers refused to load it, citing encryption problems, of which I am aware. A current browser handled it okay, though I find much of the "news" text too small as a concession to small displays. Clearly it's not going to accept complaint reports without my permitting session cookies, which always concern me when part of the point of filing is to defend my privacy.

I can't help noticing how similar the ICPEN complaint channel is to the FTC's Complaint Assistant, right down to the swipe effects between data entry levels and the typefaces in use. I'm not sure if both got the same recent window dressing or ICPEN's was modeled after the FTC's site. It's likely the US Consumer Sentinel Network fed by the FTC is part of the ICPEN network.

Telephone call from 202-559-7879    scammers...I did call them back told them I was reporting them...they hung up on me...called them back..told them they were effin liars and again hung up on me and now they blocked me as I started to call them back to again tell them they would be reported...effin jerks

Please do not post here, post under the number that called you! All you have to do is place the number in the search box located to your right → or at the bottom ↓ depending on the browser used. Thanks..

keep getting calls from these pork eating as***holes. the do not call lists do not work, i get 20 30 a week and report them but guess what nothing stops them.

One, the DNC list is NOT a call blocker
Two, it does not stop criminals, most of whom are overseas and are spoofing numbers.
Three, you don't like it, get an actual call blocker and stop thinking the government is going to screen your calls

You forgot 4.  No one wants to read his vulgar post, especially since it was written by someone who quit grade school after the third grade.

281-899-0691..This number was left as a call back number on a computerized female message i got today from a number of known IRS scam calls 213-141-5163, the voice claims that "this is a representative of the IRS, we have been trying to reach you, this is final notice, the IRS is suing you, call this number immediately for more information."  Funny enough I got a call from this same number 2 days ago, same message, but no call back info then...guess they figured out they forgot to 'hook me' with a call back number! HA!  DON"T EVER CALL BACK THESE SCAMMERS!!!!  THE IRS WILL NEVER NEVER CALL!  If someone is suing you, they send you a summons in writing, fyi.

What does your post have to do with this thread topic?  Why did you post here instead of the proper place, the number threads?

Is there a place to report scammers in the U.S? If there is a phone number, please share the number or any other information.

Its most likely posted already in the number threads under the number that called you! Generally there are plenty of posts with the info there. Its also on the IRS page itself.
