Book: How To Sue A Telemarketer
Steve Ostrow has just published a book "How To Sue A Telemarketer", which could be an interesting read. It appears the book offers a DIY approach to suing the telemarketers. It has samples of legal complaints and forms, as well instructions on how to prove your case.

- Business Mgt replies to dhI consult in the telecommunications sector for over 20 years and work with a number of call centers that both contact residential and commercial prospective clients. The call centers I work with adhere to the DNC guidelines but understand that there are still inherent problems with the "scrubbing" of DNC lists. For example, your credit card company may have your information profiled and if you have not opted out to receive offers from their affiliates, you will be contacted. There are also many other ways in which they can legally contact you, although very annoying.
Check with your local phone company on free restriction options as well.
Also, get a Google phone number, it is free, and you have the additional ability to see numbers come through on your computer and either direct them to voicemail, block them (whereas the person calling would always get a busy signal), and many other features. The Google number will ring to your home phone or any other phone without any delay, or you can set-up a voice announce feature (free) whereas the caller must identify themself on recording, then your phone is called with the person's recorded name and at that point can take or reject the call. Good luck everyone, mr@bmanaged.com - Harry Nutzak replies to Telemarketer@Telemarketer: It is YOU who are the lowlife! Why don't you go look for a real job instead of mouthing off here and calling people names, and annoying people with your telemarketing calls?
FYI, as someone thoroughly fed up with telemarketing calls, I just ordered this book and fully intend on using it. If more people go after you telemarketers and sue the last red cent off you then you'll have no choice but to stop, simple as that. - telemarketing kingIve been a telemarketer for over 25 years, and sell A great product that every business I sell too loves...

- nickThere are good lawyers, there are bad lawyers. There are people who telemarketing, who are trying to make an honest living, and some who are not. Baiting people makes then just like the the dishonest telemarketers. Oh, do you watch TV, em waht about televisionamarketer. Your enjoying your favourite program, npw someone is trying to sell you something stupid, you will never need. Do you shut off the tv. No. You just ignore it, and another one and another one, and maybe if your lucky by now back to your show fro a few minutes. welcome to planet earth. Hang up, and go ahead with your day, and don't get all weird about it. Its life, sell, sell, sell, is every where, not just phone.
- isuetelemarketers replies to TelemarketerYou want to bet I can find a million people who hate your guts faster than you can find 100 who don't? DNC has been around for 10 years and you scum buckets still violate it, waste my time, and do absolutely nothing positive for the world. Robbers have to eat to but it doesn't make it right or legal. See you in court!
- dave replies to TelemarketerGet a real job then
- Ihateidiots replies to TelemarketerJust think, if there were a bounty on stupid, senseless people, I could make a living too! And I doubt there would be as much hate towards us bounty hunters as there is against you Telemarketers!
You can't justify your job because you have to make money to live. That's like saying a Heroin dealer has just as much right to sell Heroin because he is supporting his family, too. Or Bank Robbers, Child Pornographers, the list goes on and on. Telemarketing sucks and is perpetrated at the expense of other people. If you don't like being persecuted, then pull your head out of your [***] and get a legitimate job.
As if... - Crystal replies to TelemarketerTelemarketers need to do their job then and not annoy people on the do not call list. Fricken losers!
- laughter replies to TelemarketerI never laughed so hard at anything... This answer goes in the record books as the most idiotic statement ever made by man.
- tk777111 replies to TelemarketerYou r ripping off poor people. u r the low life!
- David Kaup replies to mattActually, there are a number of ways you can enforce a small claims judgement. You can get a turnover order to take money from the defendant's bank accounts; or seize business property for auction
