If this is true, good, because I got a ton of these stupid texts this year. I hope no kid fell for this scam, 'cause I almost did.

    No Texting
I BLOCKED all text messages on my plan.  I do not text messaged and I do not receive them and my cell phone company has blocked all text messaging to my phone.  I never have to deal with these scammers now..

It has gotten so bad I don't even answer the phone anymore except for friends and relatives.  It's too bad because there are legitimate people out there trying to make a living.

Wouldn't it be nice if they put these people in jail for stalking? If someone did this to another person, this constant harassment, calling, spamming....if someone sent tons of faxes to businesses and cost them ink and paper....if someone mailed boxes of bricks to a government office...they'd put them in jail for Something.  So why is it when it's just Stupid Ol' Us they don't think anything needs to be done? We don't have a text package plan on our cell phones and these idiots have cost us $ every month in text fees, since every text we get we have to pay .10.  The phone company removed the amount the first two months but  they said they can't just do this every month and they have no way to block the #s  (we have AT&T cell phones and sadly a year to go on our contracts). I'm going to have to get us a text package just so we can get all these spam ads, and we get them from Clubs, nail spas and all the usual scam stuff others get.  We are in our 70s and on a fixed income. Our gov. taxes us at every turn and looks for more, they'd have more $ than they could use if they actually fined and went after these people and seized assets

I find texting generally annoying so I opted for a "pay by the text" plan, only to find it wasn't just a pay-by-the-text-I-sent plan, I also had to pay for texts people sent me!  I was paying $5 a month extra for spam texts like these, so I got rid of texting entirely.  I can sent emails via gmail using my Galaxy Tab, it's much easier and you can read & write full sentences.  Much nicer than tapping on a tiny phone.  Yes, I'm old!  ;)

No Ma'am. It wasn't Wal Mart or Bestbuy or Target.. it wasn't any of them. It was companies that use those recognizable places pretending to give a free gift card, that no one will get, in order to get you to go to their own websites and sign up for services you don't want.

This number called again. When answered he gave his name and knew my name.
I hung up when he started saying something about a contractor.
