- silent E replies to mishainfotech| 1 replyHear Hear! If you can't pay the fine you should work it off. Physical labor to improve the infrastructure (at minimum wage until the accumulated wages were equal to the fine) would help out communities.

- PeterSeems like some jail time would serve well. They can't pay back what they stole, the money that went to the "affiliates" is not to be attempted to be recovered, and the criminals lose nothing. LOTS of jail time would work well, about 10 years each.

I live in Florida too, and I only wish that were more true.
England is the homeland of the English.
France is the homeland of the French.
Florida is the homeland of scammers, and Boca is their capital. - J-Bird| 2 repliesIf they can't pay, throw them in real prison with Spike, Tiny, and Bubba. (Same with these rich jerks who do dodgy things: no Club Fed.) The threat of becoming somebody's 'special friend' would be a spectacular deterrent to bad behavior.

they have been banned from sending spam - which is kinda funny since its illegal anyway - Keith replies to JuliaDid you not notice - the judgment was suspended. So effectively this isn't even a slap on the wrist. Effectively they were told don't do it again, or we'll send you to bed without your supper, so that should be good enough.
- BJNJ| 1 replyThe FTC is a paper tiger. All sizzle no steak. They should have the power to CRIMINALLY prosecutes these low lifes. Allow 1000 calls for the first day then 1 day in jail for each call over 1000. No fine....jail time. To stop crime the potential criminals must fear the consequences. Now they shrug their shoulders. In Saudi Arabia the crime rate is low <grin> the criminals just disappear. There's nobody left that commits crime. If telemarketers had their fingers cut off....poof...problem gone. BJNJ
