- IhatespammersOops! I meant:
. . . . court fee's & court. (STUPID Spellcheck! 😄) - sgt3 replies to DaFox| 5 repliesWant them to bark and bite? Line their pockets! I think their decision to suspend the judgement needs a closer look! Especially with the lame ..."...these scammers couldn't pay...". I could really go off on this one...
- Person replies to JuliaMy thoughts exactly, what is the punishment if they are told not to do it again and only fined the profit amount?
- RMori| 2 repliesSpamming and other scams should be an automatic felony conviction FOR EVERYONE IN THE SCAM (even the phone operators or computer techs) with NO PLEA BARGAINING or SETTLEMENT. Just automatic loss of all assets (even personal) to reimburse those scammed. Let them try to get a real job with a felony conviction on their record. Victimless crimes like drug possession get locked up by the millions while these idiotic white collar criminals who ruin lives go unpunished. Makes you want to emigrate to New Zealand just to get as far away as possible from such a stupid judicial system.
- TampaDude replies to RMoriA bullet to the head would suffice, IMHO.
- coastal diner replies to yefSo in other words, once again the con's get away with "no pay",WOW, how does that happen? Do you really think that the insane "slap on the wrist/hand" they got from that "ir-responsible & un-ethical" judge is going to stop those fraud's? NOT! It doesn't matter where you are, con'& fraud's are thieves & liars. Just like the insurance co's & the banks that stole hundreds of millions from taxpayer's, & are still laughing about it while they vacation all over the world, AT OUR EXPENSE"!
OH, BUT if even one of us who actually "WORK FOR A LIVING" MAKE AN 'HONEST' MISTAKE OR EVEN ACCIDENTALY 'FORGOT", we could, & have lost, (had it stolen), everything, gone! With little to no hope of ever getting anything back, or compensated for our losses> no a tax deduction nor "write-off" will ever be sufficient, will it? - coastal diner replies to boOK bo, so if you get hacked, or are a victim of these phonies, is that still your attitude, really? Why not just leave your credit cards, if you have any, simply laying around somewhere. I wonder how long it will be before your scammed & your bank accounts get closed or worse>
Still going to have that, oh well let's just move on. REAlly? - tcement replies to yefYeah. Why can't feds plant a gram of coke on these folks so they can lock 'em for 10+ years. Oh, wait, these are WHITE collared criminals. Sorrrrry!
- SharpshooterThe FTC is good only for cute PR press releases. Aside from that, they're the "worthless as tits on a boar hog".
- Biff RiponeSORRY, BUT ANYONE WHO READS THAT ARTICLE AND WANTS TO APPLAUD THE GOVERNMENT AND THE FTC WORKERS WHO SET THIS "PENALTY" UP IS A MORON! As mentioned, judgement is suspended due to inability to pay, but think even deeper then just that part, which as correctly stated many times here, makes that judgement a joke right there. Yet, it also says that IF they were smart enough to HIDE some of their ill gotten gains, they get to keep whatever the government can't find! Think its hard to hide money? Besides certain off shore banks and any "James Bond" type stuff, how about just doing something like maybe making regular ATM withdrawals and taking part of it and stashing that cash someplace? I'd set up some pattern, like maybe every week on a Thurs, Fri or Sat night I'd take out $500 for instance and if caught, I'll say I spend that at bars and clubs because I liked "livin large" and buying bottles of champagne for all the pretty girls, when in reality I'm a big cheapskate when I go out on the weekends. It sounds pretty plausible though, watch any episode of American Greed, most of these con men/women start blowing their stolen money on junk or to be flashy! So, you really spent maybe $100 a week at those bars, so that's $400 a week in cash to stash, so that's 20 grand right there and it took me 1 minute to think of that!
Shame on these FTC clowns too, who darn well know this is no penalty! Finally, shame on so many of us today who fall for crap like this. Maybe if we weren't all so easily sold on these government policy ideas that sound good on a bumper sticker but are just stupid when you really think deep about them, we wouldn't have half the problems that we have today, but many people are just too lazy to bother! - God replies to J-BirdRape is not an acceptable punishment, and it's sick that you advocate it as if you are a rapist too. Not to mention that prison rape isn't as common as the media wants you to believe. There are gay men in prison and a lot of them just have normal sex, not rape. That's a rumor used to degrade prisoners, half of whom are just drug users.
- Smfh replies to BJNJThere's no freedom in Saudi Arabia, you ignorant trash.
- Jing replies to Frank12283Judging by the ignorance and bloodthirst on this thread, a lot of people fell for it.
- Yow replies to TampaDudeIn yours, maybe.
- Cara replies to RMoriPlease immigrate to NZ, America could use a break.
