- KLH replies to LDS| 3 repliesI have been recieving calls from them since December, and they keep harrassing me. He threatened to have my local police come and arrest me, and when I told him go ahead he tried to threaten my family, when I asked him his name he gave me something fake I'm sure and when I asked the name of his company he said LLC Law Firm (now what the heck is that) and when I started to tell him that I would have him sued for harrasment he mumbled something and hung up. So I tried to call back and now they have blocked my number. I am reporting them to the BBB, and filing a suit.
- LDSForgot to mention in my earlier post.
DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!
Report them to your attorney generals office, FBI and any local authorities. You may not have done a payday loan but if you have done any transactions over the internet that is how they received your info. The belief is that a payday loaner in the US was shut down for illegal practices and sold his client list. I have no unpaid/outstanding payday loans for years!!
Just today I received a call from the same voice from 210-893-5643. He said the exact same thing as the caller from this number. "This call is intended for______ . ____or my attorney of record should contact him regarding a very time sensitive matter." All Bull- Caller: None Given

- SCAM315 294 9472 Michael Paul called today threatning me. He is asking for money, same information as all you listed above. I've done a ton of research and found them to be fradulent companies. Tell them you have contacted the FBI, Attorney General, Local Police and your attorney and they will hang up on you. One guy dropped his foreign accent and swore at me in an english dialect. It is awful that they can keep calling, they don't stop and I don't know how to make them stop.

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1. The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2. Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3. File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone. Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4. File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5. File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)
By the way, here's just a small sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors
By Leslie McFadden • Bankrate.com
Monday, Aug. 3
Posted 2 p.m.
Bankrate reporter Leslie McFadden contributed this entry.
This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
• Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
• Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
• File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you. - Jennifer replies to lametI recieved a call yesterday from a middle eastern man claiming to be Daniel from the LLC law firm, claiming that i have defaulted on a payday loan and that i was being sued and i would be taken to court if i did not resolve this matter. he called back today on my direct workline and the caller ID said Inmate Phone. i almlost fell for it but my sis did some research and saved me alot of money. When i told him i wanted documentation that i had taken out this loan he did not say much. i also told him my attorney would contact him and then i hung up have not recieved any other calls since then. I think i might of been scammed before by them i am going to look more into this. i am so glad i am not the only victim that has been scammed this way.
- Joanne replies to Ticey McCallumI got a very threatening phone call from a so called company Cash Partner of America saying I needed to give him my attorney's number or I would be arrested for a Payday loan I owned back in 2009. I said I owned no one from 2009 and I think someone would have contacted me by now. DON'T EVER APPLY FOR A PAYDAY LOAN OVER THE INTERNET!!!! I am paying back agreed settlements now and it has created a hardship on my family. No one in this so called collection co. spoke clear english and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, his accent was even worse and get this, his name was Joe Smith. I just started to laugh. I told them I was going to callthe Federal Trade commission and they hung up and blocked my calls.
- RogerI have received calls from this place since the end of May. These people do not like being talked back at, all they know how do is yell at you that you have defaulted on a payday loan. Call your state attorney generals office to get this reported. When you get a call just hung up on them, this is a Scam. My caller ID came through as a local call. This needs to be Stopped.
