- EcoutezSame scam, different call back number.
Suddenly started receiving multiple voice mail messages per day threatening "a law suit" "against my SSN in state of residence.
No mention of debt, or that this is a collection agency.
Difficult to understand the accent (sounds vaguely Indian subcontinent) but he is definitely delivering a not to subtle threat.
If this last over weekend I will call back, announce that call is being recorded, NOT disclose PII, and report incident to IC3- Caller: Never stated
- Call type: Debt collector
- Martha DeeThis same voice I can barely understand has called me several times AND called my best friend's house.
Always trying to get me to pay large sums of money to clear my name before they drag me into court...
Who is this creep? Claims it is a law office and I am being recorded....will not tell me name of company
I am suppose to owe money to. Who is this?- Caller: CIL
- Call type: Debt collector
- JamiePretty much the same as the other notes.

- Bill| 1 replyI received a call from this number stating legal action could be brought against me if I do not respond. Sound like the guy is in a boiler room operation. He qoutes the last 4 digits of my social security number. Sounds like that is all he has and is bluffing to get money from me. I'm not sure where he got my information. This is a scam and I've reported it to the FBI's IC3 and my state's attorney general.
- bkny replies to BillThis is indeed a scam - I have been dealing with them for months - they have stolen your info!! They are set up in some cal center - probably in India, Pakistan or some other thirld world pit. These dirtbags all over this site - under different names and number - but with the same crackpot story -" you are going to be dragged out and arrested and charged with all kinds of fraud, decpetion etc. and may god be with you as the situation unfolds around you" Check out the post by "this just in" under the number 425-905-7100 on this site - it has the rundown on this scam.Sometimes they put up fake posts to try to make themselves lookj legitimate - they are easy to spot because they don't write english any better than they speak it. Keep posting the names and numbers they call from to keep other people informed. Good luck everyone!
- sic_of_scammersIf you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1. The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2. Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3. File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone. Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4. File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5. File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)
By the way, here's just a small sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:

https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-518-212-0219 Scammer false posting - DENISEI received several nasty messages today from a lady calling herself "jennifer smith" yeah right. Her Indian accent was so thick I could hardly understand her. The message she left was the same as others have described. They even called me at work yesterday. I told them they had better not call me again.
- Caller: cis/cin not sure
- JohnMe, my fiance and my friend all received this same call, saying I owed them an amount in the thousands. I spoke with my attorney, who called them back only to have them hang up very quickly. There is no doubt this is a scam, the question is how do we stop them, or get them put in jail? This type of junk has to be stopped, good people are getting scammed out of their time and money. And that type of thing just cannot stand.
- Caller: Central Investigations of Litigations
- Call type: Debt collector
- CSI have received many phone calls from this place everyone uses different american names like Robert Johnson but they have thick foreign accents. Telling me that I will be arrested or I am due in court and being charged with four counts of fraud. They have all of my info. They are even calling members of my family saying they too will be arrested for not complying. I have filed all reports with everyone from FBI to Secret service even with local police. But I know unfortunatly this will not stop and it is sad but with all my research I will be more aware in the future.
- Caller: Central Investigation Service
- BillWas asked by Officier Thomas Lincoln (Yeah Right) to call him back at this number because of a legal matter. These calls will appear on your caller ID as being dialed from various states throughout America but the claim their calling from California. Bottom line..... This is a SCAM trying to get you to give them the rest of your social security number and credit card number for some loan that you did not take out. They will not give you the addresss or phone number to the loan company making the claim. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION WHATS-SO-EVER!!!!!! Do not fall for or respond to any threats that they will use against you. They are bluffing to get you to give them money. I have turned this over to my State Attorney General office for investigation.
- deidrathis number has been calling me non stop at work and at home, They are harrassin me like crazy and I want them to go away.

- Caller: CIL
- ScottI received a call from this no# saying my company had it's info stolen and they were investigating it. Said there company name was CIL / Central Investigations and Litigations in Block Island, RI. I am a licensed private investigator in Texas. They picked the wrong person to call. I ran this threw my databases. There is no such company. I reversed the phone no#. It is a forwarding phone no# where you call this no# from another no# to make it show as yours. I called back and asked for PI License no# and other info and got hung up on 3 times. This is a scam. I reported it to the FBI. You should too.

- LucyI just got a call from this number too, location came up as Block Island, Rhode Island...which is a small island and 98% residential area, only very few businesses there! I highly doubt that the call is actually originating from there, only way to get there is by ferry boat. Very strange!
I did not know the number so did not pick up, they left no voice message. I am glad I did not pick up after reading all of these horrible posts! At least I know what to do now if they keep calling me.- Caller: Unknow- left no voice message
- Carl BurchGot call from 401-859-2172 stating I owe money and to pay up or face a suit. When I told them I look forward to receiving the sopenea, she asked for my address so it could be delivered by "the local constable". I'm in Fla, and gave them a valid address of the Florida State Attorney General's residence in Tallahassee. This ought to be good.
