- Ol [***]I just received call & hung up before I could answer anyway. Researched a bit more & found any with the means & money to spoof caller id can & no federal law against since bill presented was to vague in wording & google is against making it illegel in fear of it disrupting their voice services.
Cowards use spoofing! - Larry LysserHave called dozens of times with no message left and no one answers if you pickup

- A. TompkinsI will be 65 in a couple of months and deciding about
supplemental medical insurance to Medicare A and B.
Lately, it has been like a feeding frenzy from companies via mailings that want to sell me insurance, join AARP, etc. This call that I received a few moments ago from all zeros seems to be consistent with this aspect ... as soon as I opened the phone the line cut off. Incidentally, I don't use
Blockbuster and I don't have any balances anywhere that
need paying.- Caller: Unknown
- Phoebe| 1 reply3 calls in last 70 minutes. Glad I read this blog after 1st call.I went to my Digitone Call Blocker box ad blocked all calls that come in from 000 (area code). Last 2 calls were blocked and if I hadn't been in my kitchen , I would not have known they called back! Digitone records calling number and immediately hangs up on any blocked number or anyone calling from a blocked area code. I have a handy list to forward to the DNC web-site which I do on a regular basis.Digitone Call Blocker system is the best $100.00 I've EVER spent!
- Caller: 000-000-0000 unknown
- 41267The number 000-000-0000 called my brothers cell (which is on my account.) My brother anwsered it and it was some guy trying to get visa and mastercard numbers by trying to get people to pay for shipping for free $100 gift cards. I'm not even sure how they got his cell number because we use the home phone when applying for credit cards, loans, applying for jobs etc and we have a small town cell carrier.
- Annoyed parentThis 'number' has called my cell phone several times in the last few weeks, sometimes multiple times a day. Never any vm. They just called my phone again at 9:44pm and woke my children! I answered- ready to go off on whoever it was- and instead was immediately disconnected. I don't have any credit cards, a Blockbuster account and I don't know of anyone in jail that would have my number. This harassment needs to stop, but I have no idea who or what to report and what steps to take.

- Pam Kujavathis number is calling my personal cell numbers got a call last night at 10:10 p.m. while sleeping then called again this morning at 6:40 a.m. THIS IS NOT RIGHT I AM REGISTERED ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
- Disabled AmericanThe caller(s) that use 000-000-0000 are from GE CAPITAL. GE CAPITAL is used by LOWE'S, many different credit card companies, and Furniture Factory Outlet (to name a few). I'm sure many companies use GE CAPITAL to be able to offer in-store financing. These people from GE CAPITAL are relentless with their harassing calls! They call using many different 800 numbers, then call right back with the 000 number. When calls are answered, the caller(s) from GE CAPITAL are silent on the other end, or they simply hang up and call back within 5 or 10 minutes. These people begin calling at 8:00 a.m. and don't stop until 10:00 p.m., SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, calling an average of 14 times per day!!! That's an AVERAGE of 98 calls per week, folks!!!!! I am physically disabled and also have PTSD with major panic attacks, so having repeated calls from these people make me have constant panic attacks. My spouse changed the "ringing" on our phone to a music tone and turned it down so I'm not awakened by them all day. There is no way to block these calls...they just find a way to 'get around' blocks. Just how many calls from GE CAPITAL does it take to be considered harassment???? I have also told them several times (via the silence on their calls) we are on the National and State DO NOT CALL lists and we don't want them ever calling us again, but they call again and again anyway! I'm ready to call the FTC and our State Attorney General because of the harassing calls from GE CAPITAL (BTW, I found out the callers were GE CAPITAL from writing down all of the 800 numbers and using Google to back trace who called.). Does anyone else know how to put a stop to this harassment???
- Caller: GE CAPITAL
- angelkitty| 1 replygot a call at 9:42 pm last night jan 30 2013 my phone was on silent, so it went to voicemail, same thing, a recording saying my jp morgan chase mastercard had been locked, press one to unlock....I have no accounts with them, so I deleted the voicemail....
however now I am wondering is it just phishing, or is somebody using my identity??? looking into that now.- Caller: jp morgan chase?
- angelkitty replies to angelkittyok, just looked up my credit, and NOTHING IS THERE that shouldnt be from what I can see...so its not identity theft they are just throwing a line out there to see who will bite, and give up their info. DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS, dont fall for it, I too am on the do not call registry, and calls for telemarketing are only legal in the united states between 9am and 9pm in the timezone that they are calling too! this is a bunch of hooey, and I will be blocking this number.
- Tom| 289 repliesI received a call from that number and didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. Then an hour later they called me again, so I answered the phone and it was a political poll. They don't want people calling them so they give a bogus number, but it really could be any one when you see 000-000-0000. The best thing to do is to answer the phone and ask for the callers company name, phone number, and address. If they don't give you that information there's something fishy about them.
- grouchymark| 1 replygot a call from 000-000-0000 last evening - ignored as i do not answer calls from unknowns. Surprisingly, they left a message, claiming to be JP Morgan Chase. I have accounts with chase, so next morning I calles chase customer service to see wassup????. NADA, not a call from Chase.
This is an apparent scam. do not answer 000-000-0000 when it comes into your phone.- Caller: unknown, probably a scammer
- fed uppartner and I both recieved calls within 24 hours of each other, no activity on any of our Chase accts. Neither of us picked up the calls due to the wacky number. One of us got the message"your Chase Mastercard has been locked" but message left was not completed. No message was left on the other's call
- JJMHI also got a call five times within the last 2 days, all five times saying my mastercard has been "suspended" and to press "1" to talk to a representative.
I never pressed "1", but I want who ever is using 000-000-0000 to know that I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST for a reason, and Mastcard would have no choice but to use their 800# to contact customers if they really had placed my card on a "suspended" status.- Caller: Pretending to be MasterCard

- A. Nonie MouseThe number 000-000-0000 is used on at least some phone systems when you activate the calling feature that disables the transmission of your caller ID. I tested this by calling two different lines and seeing what caller ID came up when I activated this feature on a third phone. A call from the third phone to the first phone came up as 000-000-0000, while a call from the third phone to the second phone came up 1-000-000-0000.
It is clear that in many cases, a call showing 000-000-0000 as an originating number is either from a caller who has activated his anonymous dialing feature, from a caller who does not have the capability of transmitting a caller ID or has it improperly set up, or from a caller who is connected to a carrier that, for some reason, cannot (or will not) transmit caller ID to your phone's carrier.
If you get a lot of these calls and it won't interfere with your basic needs and/or lifestyle, you might try temporarily blocking all anonymous callers or diverting them directly to voice mail if you have the capability of doing so. The reason for the caveats is that when you made an emergency call to some doctors or veterinarians a few years ago, they sometimes called you back anonymously to prevent you from dialing them directly rather than through their exchange. So if you blocked all anonymous calls, you ran the risk of rejecting their calls when they tried to reach you.- Caller: Anonymous Caller ID feature
- lynnI got a call just now from this number. I have no bb. I didnt answer and no message, huh oh well
- 207 moosemanIf you really want to stop these phone calls then I suggest you proceed to your nearest Marine shop or Wal-Mart and purchase a marine warning horn witch emits a loud ear piercing shrill causing great pain and discomfort to the ear drum. Remember to answer the phone in a soft low voice so the caller will turn up his earphones after you confirmed there is someone else on the other end of the line. Put the horn right up to the mouth piece and give em a blast! Rest assured the caller is somewhere clasping his ear calling you every name in the book. Make sure you keep the phone as far away from your head so you won't cause discomfort to yourself.

- DianeJust got a call from Private Name private number 000-000-0000. Answered and man with East Indian accent rambles on that they have detected malicious software on my computer and that they can repair it. Told him, "I don't think so. Good-bye." and hung up. There will not be a next time that I pick up the phone with a 000 number. Stupid of me not to have checked call display before I picked up.
- David KReceived same call on all house cell #'s and land line in past 2 days. It's the first solicitation call on my land line since changing my # in Nov(3 months). This blog dates back to '07, where the hell is the FCC?
Consumer tip; keep changing your # until your carrier and/or FCC puts a stop to these calls. - wannaknowwhy replies to AndiWell Andi I hope you are right. My Panasonic phone doesn't have very many block spaces and if you are right that will help me. All I would have is one spot to block instead of a hundred. Thanks
