This number called and left no message.  We do not answer unknown callers.  We then blocked the number.

I have been called numerous times, in which 1-000-000-0000 pops up on my caller ID. I have ignored it in the past, as it looked to be a suspicious number. I finally answered the call from that number tonight. I was told by a man with a foreign accent that he was from "Windows" and that my computer was sending signals to them that it was being hacked". Red flags went off, as I thought this seemed unlikely that "Windows" would call me. I told him "I hadn't been on my computer for quite sometime, he insisted that he would wait for me to boot it up", and then switched me over to an "IT Tech", who spoke with the same foreign accent.  I felt uncomfortable as the first representative said something about my Computer (IPA?) number and "that they needed that to correct my viruses, as ALL my computer programs had been compromised." I asked the IT Tech why his phone number showed up as 000-000-0000. He explained that my "Windows" on my computer had been compromised, and  that it had went to a automatic number, in which I was dialed from. He proceeded to talk me through steps which would give him access to my Windows program. He had me hit the Flag button on the left bottom row of my key pad, simultaneously with the letter R. The RUN box pop up.  He had me type in the "Run" box "Windowssearch live. USA" before hitting the "OK" button, I started thinking he'd have complete access to all my programs, and perhaps my personal information as well. That made me very uncomfortable. So, I told him I would like his phone number to call him back, as I wanted to discuss this first with my father. He yelled, and was very rude with me, and said "he was just trying to help me", at which point I felt I was being scammed by his reaction, and told him a legit company would gladly give me a return phone number in which to call, and I hung up on him! I believe this was a scam! I'm grateful I listened to my gut, and did not RUN the program. I wanted to report this.  Thanks.

Once you press "delete" they know there's a  real person who is willing to answer...........then they sell you phone number to other scammers to call.  NEVER push anything. Just hang up and add that number to the CALL BLOCKER feature if your phone has it.  That's what I did when I got a call from these characters.

I never answer these calls, but decided to today.  It was Kirk from Island Vacations and he asked me if I could hear him ok.  I said yes, and to please take me off his call list.  But before I could finish saying that he hung up.  Rat Bast....

Dang, I think Obama made an error seeking to make community college free.

A call from this number went to my answering machine @ 11:49 AM EDT on 5/5/15.  Message left was a woman's voice (sounded elderly or fragile) repeatedly saying hello.  I did not recognize the voice and did not respond.  Eventually they hung up. Caller ID listed unknown name.

I have received multiple calls from this number. I never answer and they never leave a message. After today's call I called our home phone carrier AT&T who advised that there is no such number, but beyond that they could offer nothing else. Ghosting or Spoofing phone numbers is illegal in my state but can be accomplished very easily and cheaply by downloading one of many free apps for apple or android phone. When researching this in the past I found that many unscrupulous companies have switched to cell lines or voice over internet protocol (VOIP), because the regulations are much less strict and harder to enforce then regulated land lines. As example, random robo calls to random cell numbers from land lines is forbidden. But cell or VOIP robo calls to cell lines is not clearly defined so the only offense if any is annoying phone calls, and try and prove it if you can find them.

The fact the person calling you said he was from Windows should have alerted you  . There is no computer company called "Windows"  and no one from Microsoft even knows you exist . He was trying to get you to turn on your remote procedure control so he could access your computer . Some of these scammers will want you to install a program called Team viewer that would give them access . Then they will proceed to try and get you to spend 300 by idiotically giving them your credit card or banking information .  Windows  name given to any operating system  that Microsoft sells . just as Apple trademarks the Macintosh name . No one legit would call you . Do not ever give these people information . Computers do not do what this con artist claims . These people prey on those who are not computer literate .
