I received a call from this number stating my computer was sending error messages and that he could fix it if I log on to my computer.  I informed the caller that I have the Geek Sqaud coming over to my home on a pre-arrange appointment Saturday.   The caller said he was from the Geek Squad and that he will me back on Saturday.  A true Scammer.

They call here all the time asking for donations to cover someone else that is running out side of California. I told them not to call here anymore and I they keep calling. So the last time they called I told them I switched and I am now a Democrat, they were shocked and speechless😜😜😜

    https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=IRS+accepting+bitcoin

I had to google it out of curiosity, however it won't come up clickable no matter how many times I tried it.  However if you copy and paste it in the address bar on another screen, it does come up. This is just the first page of many.

I still don't believe it and it's a bad idea since the scammers have picked up on it.

LA Times is notorious for harassing calls when a subscription is due for renewal. They called end of July into beginning of Aug when I BLOCKED their 800 number which did have their caller ID. The 000 calls began with ID of Name Unavailable, about the same time as their 800 number calls. Paid year's renewal bill in full but calls continued for another two weeks until TODAY when I called THEM to ask if they call from 000-000-0000 and she said YES THEY DO!!! She also said they had received payment and that she would be sure my number was removed from their call system. I only answered this number once and as others here have mentioned, there was dead silence til it disconnected. I have NOMO ROBO and it did NOT work to disconnect this number which rang about 20 times every call. Obviously 238 pages of complaints here are NOT all for the LA Times but it's likely many of these calls are coming from a creditor if someone has an account that  is past due. If it IS a creditor and they do not speak when you answer, it's ridiculous since you have no idea who is calling.

It's because it's a fake number. They use wireless and can change what their phone sends out as to what the number really is.

LOL! Telling anyone to stop calling you on this site is futile. The site exists simply for people to post warnings etc about numbers they have calling them.

Won't do any good to say that on this site. No one here can do anything about the calls, and the idiots calling you don't even use the site unless it's to laugh at everyone complaining.

The female who called me had an oriental accent, that would slip into a British accent then back into the oriental regularly.  She used the "your computer is sending out errors via Internet Explorer" scam.  Wanted to "walk" me through the process of getting rid of the problem.  She was stumped when I told her that I don't use IE to access the internet. Just to show how ignorant some of them are.....she said that was impossible, as I needed IE in order to access the internet. I laughed and called her a moron, then hung up.
