Police certainly wouldn't use a masked number either. A bogus call from an impossible number.

I got a call from this number yesterday around 4:30PM. The caller had an Indian accent and started to tell me something concerning Windows and my computer. Since I responded to a Windows 10 message in my taskbar, I asked him what he wanted. He started asking for personal information, and I told him to stop calling this number and hung up. Microsoft will not try to contact you through an untraceable number. Well, that's been my experience.

The caller, Unavailable Out of area ( displayed as ID on our phone ) called us today @ 12:55 & 13:12, 08.11.2015 again.
Its number always hiding, no way we call return the call. According www.800notes.com. above, this caller has call thousand or 10 thousand people. I  don't know why www.ftc.gov or www.fcc.gov/complaints have not found 7 fined them $.100,000.00 to $.200,000.00 USD.

Unfortunately they do sell your number and name. I am with Charter, and had to get a land line for work. I never gave the number to a soul, it is used only for my dialing out, to go into a work portal. I get dozens of calls from telemarketers on this line, asking for me by the exact name that is on my Charter account....when I contacted Charter, they admitted that yes, they do sell our information. The 000-000-0000 number calls alot also, it is a computer generated call, that just pops up as that number, as it has no number, because it is not being made from a phone...and they can come from all over the world.

    I got a call from (000)000-0000 today.
I did not answer it, but they left a message telling me that my computer was calling the IRS that it was in their neighborhood today and could offer a free home security system, and if they gave their credit card # they would be entered in a raffle to win a trip to the Bahamas, be given a credit card with lower rates, unless they are behind on their taxes in which case they will need to send all their money to their local police department who will get rid of their computer viruses and on top of that one of their relatives had paid for a medical alert system and all they needed to do was to give them (or the computer - I'm getting confused now) new lower rate credit card # and also put them in jail for an unpaid red light camera fine they incurred in 1957.
I called (000)000-0000 back and the CIA, FBI, IRS and the Obama-Trump fascist communistic Big Pharma NRA New World Orderly (who had a thick Middle Western accent) told me he was taking a nap and could I call later?
Hmmph.  The nerve of some people!

Note:   I thought we could use a laugh after reading through the true craziness that gets reported on this spoofed number.
      Or...
Oh crap, I just found some really late Blockbuster videos...

I get a call almost every day from whoever these jerks are. I usually just let it ring, but I answered it yesterday without looking at the caller ID. Nothing. No message, no one on the line.

A man with an Indian accent very excitedly  told me I have been chosen for a U.S. Gov. Grant, but he never spoke my name and just called me Ma'am. He asked me to write down some numbers then said have a nice day. The ONLY response I gave was MM Hmmm.

The RNC calls us several times a day from this number. I have tried many times to get off their call list, but they just ignore my requests. I'm a republican, but am so sick of this pathetic trickery!
