They are using an Internet voice Portal or most likely spoofing software to hide their ture identity. sppofing software should be illegal and is for bill collectors and telemarketers. they must idenity themselves witht the correct phone number and who they are. find a lawyer who only gets paid once he collects. I believe the law says they have to pay the attorney fees.

You are fools if you think the FTC and the Do Not Call program accepts indivudal complaints. It is a joke they play on us. Get a lawyer and sue them.  Your corrupt congressman get his election contributions from these collection agencies so they will ignore anything you say. first of all you need to know who allows this type of treatment. Yes it is your congressman who voted to allow this. Call them and they say they can't do anythong. Which is a lie, they just want their election contributions. I email call my congressman regularly. Tell them you will not vote for them again and will pass the word around. The Do Not Call list is for telemarketers only. And as I said they do not investigate individual complaints nor does the FTC. I know they have forms to fill out. But that is trick and of no use. If congress is against you you do not have a chance. They make the laws. I get 70 to 80 calls a month from debt collectors. I owe no one any money and never have. They still continue to call. Never answer the phone or call them back. Buy phones with call block feaTURES AND SWITCH TO PHONE COMPANIES THAT HAVE CALL BLOCK. some cell phones allow you to select a separte ring for an individual. Select silent mode yfor these callers.

"Matt" calling from New Jersey with "great rates for my company."  Knew my first name.  Told him to put me on the do not call list and not to call me again.  Caller had strong Asian accent and was calling from a boiler room environment with a lot of background noise.

We have been getting these phone calls for a few weeks now, the frequency is anywhere from 2-10 calls PER DAY, all hours of the day and night. The number shows up as all zeros on the caller id, and when you ask them who they are and why they are calling, they don't tell you. They wait for you to answer the phone and ask "do you have diabetes" and then it's all gibberish from there. Several members of my house have asked, demanded, screamed that they stop calling us, but they continue to do so. MAKE IT STOP.

Get a metal whistle.  Should only take once.  DO NOT SAY A WORD TO THEM.  Just give 'em a blast.  Depending on how stupid they are, it may take more than once.

As soon as you hear them begin the spiel, blow a whistle in their ear.  Repeat as necessary; do not speak to them.  Should only take once.

You have no legal obligation to give them any information at all.  They have no legal rights where you are concerned.  As soon as you hear them begin the spiel, blow a whistle in their ear.  Repeat as necessary; do not speak to them.  Should only take once.

Received a call from 000-000-0000, and I'm so sick of this number calling me, I finally answered it. It was a call from some outfit who claims to be collecting funds in support of Scott Walker, and they need the bucks to fend off a recall campaign that will probably occur in January 2012.

So, I politely said that could not afford to donate, and the jerk on the phone hung up on me !!!!!

So, I believe (just like other folks on this site) that this is a scam.

Fed and State Governments,,,,,,catch these fools and prosecute every last one of them !!!!

I just received a call from 0000000000 yesterday and today.
Both times it was a strong Indian accent claiming to be from the American Diabetic Association.
Why would the ABA be calling a Canadian number? We have our own Diabetic Assn.
Anyhow, today I request to be put on the Do Not Call again list.
Time will tell if that stops them.

A correction to my previous post:
The person calling claimed to be from "American Diabetic Assistance", not "American Diabetic Association". Subtle, but significant difference!
