Why would any of you people even answer a obvious BOGUS call with those numbers

    Listen, guys... replies to Hi
This is a really Really REALLY long conversation.

    The solution is simple.
    Block the caller ID.

    The prevention is even simpler.
    Don't answer.

If the number has all zeroes, then the number has all zeroes.
If you don't feel like it'd be safe to answer it, then don't answer it.
If you like answering phones with the number with all zeroes calling, answer the phone.

    Simple.

I just got my last call from 000-000-0000.  I have digital telephone with a call forwarding feature for select numbers.    I just put it on a forwarding list so that anytime 000-000-0000 calls it is forwarded to 000-000-0000.

It will call the number and get the famous tones of out of order, not in service.   This will tell whoever is calling that they have a non working number.  I hear this also works with answering machines.  Just put the tones and message on your answering machine and the calling machine will think it's disconnected.

I got calls from 1111 too and did the same trick.  Or, sometimes I get a collection agency wanting someone I've never heard of.  I set it so it calls that company back.  So, someone on the other end is calling and in their same office, picking it up.  Isn't technology great.

    1. Buy a Panasonic home phone which will block up to 30 numbers.
It will take any crazy number combos, too, even ones that only have
3 digits and it rings once and the call doesn't go through.
    2. Disallow private callers
    3. Get Cable phone service, as that will allow you to block an additional 15 numbers
    4. If that isn't enough, get TrapCall. TrapCall will give them a "out of service" message.
It's $5 per month, and well worth it. It will also work for cell phones.

This is what I do. I refuse to allow these people to annoy me and take up my precious time.

I just got a call from 000-000-0000. It was some Russian dude asking if I was a diabetic! I didn't understand what he was saying for 5 minutes. I'm expecting another call soon. Just have to wait and see!

I receive this number frequently, but don't answer anymore.  If they don't have a # to recognize, don't bother calling.

I just got a strange call from this number. It sounded like a Filipino man, trying to sound like a girl. He sang a 5 second song, that I could barely hear, he was so quiet the whole time. Then at the end he said "I love you". It was very strange to hear this on my answering machine when I got home. The whole message was only ten or so seconds. Needless to say I have no idea who it is, since almost no one has my number. I'm guessing it was a prank.

I have received phone calls from this number, and it was a friend of mine calling me through Skype. When it's from computer to telephone there is no number that you can call back. Many other businesses will use Skype because it's cheaper than some long distance plans. I recommend not answering these calls. If it is a friend calling through Skype they can leave you a message. Sadly there is nothing the phone companies can do to block these calls. The only way to block them is if you have a good home phone that has the option built into it like my $150 Panasonic home phone.

I finally answered a 000-000-0000 call - she asked for my dead husband, saying it was from Gov. Scott Walker's office..  Then she asked for me, I said she wasn't available and hung up.  I checked my phone calls since I never answer if I don't know who is calling.  There were 12 or more calls in the past week from that number and many more before that.  I then blocked the number. For a while a blocked number rings once and then stops.  Since I blocked it, they have called every five minutes for the last two hours.

Received a call last night  from 1-000-000-0000 Name Not Shown. I picked it up and said hello several times before they asked for me, by name.  I did not admit that it was me, I asked what this was in reference to. Their answer was that they were calling me in reference to a form that I, or a loved one completed on the internet  from the Diabeties Foundation. When I replied that no one filled out any forms, they hung up.

I just received a call from this all zeros number and answered b/c I'm on this mad quest to block all calls that are not legitimate bill collectors for debts I actually owe, now that Time Warner finally updated the online system to allow me to. Anyway, I answered and some woman said that I was using the internet and that there was a Windows error message and that she would help me troubleshoot it. It made me feel really uneasy and uncomfortable. I told her to never call me again and hung up on her. I plan to attempt blocking this number. I hope that my system allows me too. I will take the chance that it blocks other blocked calls (as someone suggested may happen). I don't accept blocked calls anyway. But some of them get through b/c of the way the caller ID stuff shows.

I know this discussion has gone on way longer than it needs to, but it's just that people need the shared solidarity and a space to vent about all the wierdness that goes on with "spoofing" and getting so many strange calls. There are so many forums like this all over the internet and it's just nice to be able to kvetch about all the scumbags out there trying to scam us.

Do you have a guilty conscience ? Did you do something wrong ? If not, don't be the Prince of Paranoia ! If the Feds want to listen to you, for whatever reason, you will never know it. Their equipment is far more advanced than yours. Anyway, if they want to talk to you, they'll just stop by. The Law Enforcement community is made up of real, regular (yet brave) people, they eat, sleep and breathe just like the rest of us, they're not hard to get along with. Maybe you are watching too much TV?

I've been getting atleast 5 calls a day from this number. I answered several times and they had hung up on me. When I received a call yesterday (and answered) they greeted me as Pro America and asked if I would like to make $500 to $1000 a week salary working online (the man sounded foreign). I told them "No, and please add me to your do not call list" and they hung up on me. They called me again last night and I answered, gave the same intro, and I told them again - do not call me. The lady (who sounded foreign) said they would not call me again - and so far they have not called back.

The use of this phone number is not illegal guys. It is the same as calling from Unavailable or Private Number, but their act of hanging up on me when I tell them to stop calling - and then calling me back - is illegal. If they continue to call me, I'm going to my attorney.
