Foreign speaking gentleman, said he was calling from the US. government and I was owed $7500.00 and I could get it without paying anything.  I didn't say anything, and he asked if I understood,  I told him "Yes, Understand this call is coming from a call center -- you could tell by the background noise -- and this is a scam"  He replied "Okay, no problem."   My concern is, most of us know these are scam calls, but I worry about the elderly and the impaired falling for these type of calls.  I urge you call to block them if you can, talk to family members about the numbers so they can be aware and if they are unsure, not to give any information, agree to do anything, etc. until they talk with a family member.  These folks make me so mad.  It's no wonder a good many folks do not trust foreigners...that's not profiling Hillary, it's fact.  BTW, the call types on this form should include fraud/spam.

Gotten numerous using the 1's, then unknown and then no caller id.   Said he was us Dept of grants and he had my cell number and my address. Has called about 7 times today.  What good is the no call list??????

I'm on Celebrity next week out of Japan and received a text message from Celebrity and 20 minutes later received a call from 1111111111. They did not leave a message. I did not answer it but glad to see your post.

I had a texting app called. text now. and it let's you choose any number you want to use and they are probably using an app like that to prank people or try getting money from ppl and just trying to scare yiu. download the app to see how it works now that I know there are apps like that it makes me feel much better. hope this helps

this number pops up on my cell phone caller ID on  as 1111111111.  These calls happen mostly when I am at work.  I do not answer #'s I do not know.

I have recieved 4 calls from +1 (1) 111111111, each about 2 hours apart. I don't answer calls that I do t know the numbers to.

They keep calling my son's phone at 6:00 am. No idea who it is. The guy asks for someone whose name I can't understand. Blocked!!

Where is this phone number coming from? Sure would like to know. I get calls about eight ever other day. I do not answer it. If it was important they would leave a message. They don't.

I Get Calls From This # & They Never Leave Me A Message, I Think Its 1 Of Those Scams!

This call left a message in my machine. First an automated voice requesting my wife by name ~ although mispronounced and the middle initial was wrong. Then a man who called himself Quinn O'Malley claimed he was trying to reach her to settle a debt. We have NO outstanding debts and even his voice sounded rather automated. He also claimed he wanted to serve her papers. What kind of debt collector tells you in advance they are trying to serve you papers? I have told my wife not to answer any calls if the caller ID was spoofed and to not answer the door when I am not home.

I got this call twice last week....some guy from Baltimore saying the 16tth....I needed to be home so I could be served...said if I had any questions I needed to call the petistioner.....and he repeated it again....lol he called me on the 16th same number reminding me this was the day.....THEY CALLED MY CELL PHONE.....I USE THE HOME PHONE FOR ALL BUSSINESS.......AND I HAVE PERFECT CREDIT......I was home the 16th just to see what would happen.....NOTHING OF COURSE.....and can tell you...its a scam...... its like the irs scam......if theres a lawsuite the notice comes in the mail first and you have ten days to reply......I HAD this same call earlier this summer.....figured who cares its not me....someone just gave them my cell no.....NOW I REALIZE ITS JUST A SCAM....I THINK HE SAID HIS NAME WAS MARK MALLORY FROM BALTIMORE.....PITIFUL

This group of scammers has a long history on 800notes.

Stuff like:

• Constantly calling you at work when you have asked/told them not to.
• Revealing your debt to third parties.
• Leaving messages and not revealing they are a debt collector.
• Threatening a lawsuit when they do not intend on bringing one.
• Claiming that you can or will be arrested if you do not pay the debt.
• Claiming that a judgment will occur immediately if you do not pay.
• Claiming that they can garnish your wages if you do not pay.
• Claiming that they will put a lien on your house if you do not pay.

Demand a debt validation letter if they call you and demand it be sent by US mail.  E-mail no good.  Of course , they won't do this.

Do not pay them anything w/o such a letter, if you have paid them anything or are  in the process of paying them anything, it might be a good idea to simply stop paying them.  Any credit or debt cards numbers they have should simply be cancelled and new ones obtained.

These people are serious debt scammers.

If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the [***] are working out of now.
