- JohnnyI received three calls yesterday including one just before midnight eastern time from this number it was an automated recording saying "credit card account has been put on hold at Cattaraugus County Bank had been compromised if you wish to restore it please press 1 now". The system automatically disconnected the call almost immediately.
I got another call yesterday in between the other calls saying the exact same thing except that number showed up as 919-754-8077. I noticed on another website other people had received similar messages.
I work in an IT Dept and from my experience it's best to inform your local authority so that they could put out a public announcement to alert others in your community for people who may not have internet access. Also please don't press any numbers or enter in any personal information with these types of calls/phishing scams. In some cases by pressing certain numbers on your phone can allow others to charge to your phone bill. - LisaSomeone keeps calling from this number how to i stop them from calling i nthe future

- mammaemiaWhen I answered this number they said they locked my debit card and to press one to unlock then they asked for the number, they are obviously trying to get peoples info.....they should've picked someone with something in their account LOL besides I didn't give it to them.

note, this message will be twitted on a certain phone that will blow up. do not by serial # 923685 - 84 strat replies to JBanswered this call and it was someone with a thick accent trying to get me to recieve a free cell phone ??
When they started asking for detail info ( licence, birth date . etc. ) I asked them why they needed this. I mentioned that any reputable service or business would not block thier phone I.D. -- like this one did.
Anyway, I said I was recording this call & getting my phone company to trace it while we were connected -- they hung up !! - Angry BobI received a call from 123-456-7890. I answered it and heard key clicking like a boiler room for telemarketers. The woman on the other end asked for me by name. She butchered my last name but I told her it was me anyway.
She was very serious and told me, again by name, that my Chase Credit card was being used without my permission and had already charged 15 thousand dollars on it.
She had woken me up from a nap and so I just told her, "Ma'am, I don't have a Chase card". The biotch just hung up on me.
Now if I get another spoofed call with 123-456-7890 or 1-000-000-0000 or anything like that, I am not going to answer and if they wake me up and I answer, they will get an earful of anti-[***] vulgar language in their ear and I will hang up.- Caller: Chase Credit Service-Spoofed-Scam
- rainangelI have been getting these call, too. I noticed that this number has been reported since 2008! I think that whoever is selling the use of this phone number would get the message by now. Regretfully, there are still a lot of naive people out there. Just tell them NOTHING! (that is, if you answer at all) I'm going to try hitting the # button several times if I answer. A few people says it messes up the callers computer call. THat might be fun!
- Modesto MackI called AT&T to see why they cannot just do a blanket dump for all received phone calls that are spoofed to 123-456-7890 or 1-000-000-0000. I told the woman at AT&T that with the technology of today AT&T should be able to just send those telephone numbers to a black hole.
SHE TOLD ME THEY ALSO SELL FAKED NUMBERS TO BUSINESSES! That they could not just dump another phone companies numbers because then the other phone companies would dump AT&T's faked(spoofed) numbers too.
I couldn't believe this. She then told me if I didn't like it to complain to the FCC about it. She told me the only thing they could do was to change my phone number for me for a minimal fee.
She wouldn't talk to me anymore when I told her that this business practice circumvents the Do Not Call Registry.- Call type: Telemarketer
- LalaleelooI get called by 1-234-567-890 almost every day for about 2 weeks and I don't know why. When I pick up without answering, the other side doesn't respond, so I simply hang up. No voice mail is left either.
It's getting pretty annoying and I don't just give out my phone number to anybody either, no stores either.
I'm in the Boston MA area and to see that it's all over the country is ridiculous.
Any way to stop this nonsense? - paraskaterBeen getting calls from this number for a couple weeks but when I answer no one was there. finally someone was on the line today and said he was from Credit Services company asking about my unsecured debt. Dude sounded like he was in India but said he was in oregon. I asked why it shows up 1234567890 when he calls and he said because its an internet dialer. Told em to put me on the do not call list, hopefully they do.

- unknown| 3 repliesHere are results posted on the WikiAnswers website:
The number 123-456-7890 is used for VOIP calls originating a PC.
This number is a generic caller ID number used by the SKYPE and possibly other VOIP (Voice Over IP) phone providers. Currently most calls made through Skype on a PC will show up on caller ID as 123-456-7890.
A call from this number may be from any of the 275 million subcribers of SKYPE, who may be anywhere in the world. It may a legitimate call from a friend of yours.
Recently, however, there has been an increased number of scam callers hiding behind this generic number. If you believe that Skype should assign a unique ID for all callers so that scam callers would be unable to hide behind a generic number, you may wish to contact them to ask them to make this change.

- unknown (following up on my last post) replies to unknown| 1 replySo according to what WikiAnswers is saying, this number can be anyone using a PC dialer via Skype. I would say that it most cases it's probably a scam or bill collector or telemarketer wanting to hide their real number. Or maybe it saves them money on long distance calling overseas. But I have also heard that it's common among people in the armed forces calling from overseas to use Skype. So if that's the case for anyone's friends or family, it could be them. But then again, I would think one might know if they're expecting a call from someone they know overseas.
- Soph replies to Ann| 44 repliesI had the same number come up early this morning, some woman with a heavy accent asking about my computer and the Windows system. If you Google that scam, they want access to your info. They must use this number for various telemarketing scams.
