- George Muthara| 3 repliesSome guy using an Unknown # keeps calling me about winning $2.5M dollars, He wants me to send $100 processing fee. He told me his name is Daniel Smith and was calling me from Indiana. I asked him for his real # and he gave me 1-800-429-2465. I traced that and it originates from Jamaica. Second time he called from the above number. They even know my home address. I told them I can not send any money but he keeps hammering me to send it. I tell them to deduct $100. from the so called winnings but it falls to their deaf ears.
I would like to know who to report these guys to since they keep calling me even when I am at work
This has become a real headache to me - Sarah| 4 repliesI also got a call from this number from a man who sounded Indian. He was hard to understand (lots of background noise) and claimed he got my number from a survey I filled out at a store last year. He then proceeded to say I had won a flat screen tv and other prizes and said I needed to come to downtown DC to their office to claim them. Once I got all his info, I hung up and he called right back.
This is clearly a scam. The number is listed as unknown in DC.- Caller: Virgin sales (not the airline)?
- JamesThis guy is a scam artist. I contacted the state attorney and was informed that this guy uses this number to try and run several different scams. He has a foriegn accient and tells people he works with a collection agency or hes from toshiba or a loan re he has several scams.

- lawlooker| 1 replyScammer - he got my cell phone number somehow and claimed he was from some electronics company and was trying to sell me product. Beware. This is a Washington, DC area code.
- SMC replies to SarahThat is the EXACT same thing that happened to me!! Down to the hanging up & him calling back. And we have the same name. They said they go my # from a store that I shopped at. He named 3 common stores that I do not even go to (Wal-mart, K-mart, Best Buy). They were kind of pushy too, didn't say anything about what agency they were with or anything. Glad to know for sure it was a scam!
- Irritated replies to lawlookerI keep getting calls from an Indian guy trying to sell me drugs "we are the pharmacy and your medication is ready." Not sure how they got this number, but after about 50 calls over a few weeks, I was could recognize the number began deliberately answering and calling the indian guy Mr. Pig. I then keep a slew of insults up until he goes away. Then he comes back. You can't reason with them as in I am never going to buy anything from you so please stop wasting your time." Fortunately, I have a three mailbox answering machine and all computer assisted calls are routed to mailbox #1, which I never listen to.
- Karencalled saying I won a prize shopping at Kmart Best Buy and that he is from Toshiba Electronics
- Caller: Toshiba Electronics

- Michael replies to Sarah| 1 replyI received the exact same call; he wanted me to come down to the store at 901 31st street tomorrow morning to claim my prize. I told him I never give out this phone and I am out of town tomorrow, so he said he would call next week. I will be blocking this number. My wife works at a law office across the street from that address; I will have her see who the tenant is there.
- CySame as Karen. They claimed to be Toshiba, and said I had won a prize from something I had alledgely purchased during Christmas time.

- Erin| 1 replyJust got off the phone with this guy. Says his name is Mike, says he's calling on behalf of Virgin and that I've won one of four prizes. Mentioned a Hybrid truck, a 36" flat screen from Toshiba, $2500 cash, and a 3 day 2 night getaway for couples. Said I filled out a prize ticket at a mall last Christmas in D.C. Too bad I'm in CA and was not in VA or D.C. last Christmas. "Mike" has a very heavy accent, sounds Indian. Told me to go to 3050 31st ST NW Washington D.C. 20007 Suite 901. Google maps shows it as a residential area.
I told him I was in CA and would not be coming to claim my prize, he said I could transfer it to a family member and gave me a cell number to call him back at. - davidgot the call at 4AM - didn't make it in time to hear
- old timerCalls from 202-239-8934 are associated with well known scams. I was called by "Virgin Promotions" at 4:15 pm, 08/10/2011. I think the Indian guy and his "supervisor" finally got tired of trying to get me to commit to a time during the next three days when both my wife and I could visit their office. I discovered they wanted us to listen through a 90 minute sales pitch for "Global Discovery Vacations". See also https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-401-616-4924. Don't go for it. A total waste of time. I'm not surprised that con artists are still out there, but you'd think they'd adjust tactics after all these years. Where's the creativity?
- Caller: Virgin Promotions
- Call type: Telemarketer
- alexI received a call from this number at 4:45 in the afternoon - the man on the phone had an Indian accent and said he was calling from Toshiba about "my application." I told him he must have the wrong number. He said he had my number on the application, and read my phone number back to me. I told him no, I had not applied for anything, and he hung up.
When I called the number back I got a recording that said "Welcome to Magic Talk" and asked me to type in the Magic Talk number i wanted to reach. - donatragot several calls from this number. Couldn't understand or hear the guy who had a thick Indian or Pakistani accent. I hung up each time.
- Jeff in MDGuy with unimaginable, complicated accent called asking me if we provided service. I asked him where he was calling from and he said:
usawebpros.com. I asked his address and was told me 1036 Innovation Way, Post Falls, Idaho.
Said he would offer $200 per referral for web clients or something like that then maundered on about what a wonderful deal it was.
I asked him if he was in Idaho at that moment and he said yes. I asked him what time it what there at that exact minute but he couldn't answer and quickly hung-up. Surprisingly, he called back a few seconds later and apologized for the disconnection.
He continued on with his rambling sales pitch as I went to the website. He asked me how I liked it and I told him it was poorly done and useless. He actually wanted to confirm that I had the correct spelling of the site and once it was confirmed that I did, he was disappointed in my negative response to his call and site.
I then asked him to name the capitol of Idaho and asked what major city was nearby his location. He could confirm neither so I asked him if he would be interested in purchasing our services and started giving him a sales pitch for the products our company provides.
He told me he was not interested and hung-up.
