The wonderful DO Not Call Act specifically exempts these sleazebags because they contract with the Visa and Mastercard services, so since you "have a prior relationship" with them, according to the law,  they are allowed to ignore the Do Not Call list. They could voluntarily take your phone number off the list, but why would they? They are always hoping you'll fall for their ploys.

Just got a call from SERVICEMSG at 202-367-9973 and when finally I got a human and asked to be put on the No Call list he said he would as soon as the auto dialer was fixed. Why are auto dialers even LEGAL?? I do NOT want call about improving my credit card rates. I never have any interest.

Should a person put your number in their do not call list or will that just result in more calls? I am already on the national registry

I have been receiving these calls for weeks and keep hanging up and they keep calling back.  Finally today, I decided to press #2 to hear their offer, so when the woman answered my first question was what company they were with.  She talked so fast that I had her repeat it 3 times as I was writing it down, Visa card and Credit card something, and when I insisted on the name of the company, she hung up on me.  Can you tell me who these people are and how they got my phone number?  This is on the verge of harassment.

I got a call from this number. It's a scam outfit phishing for credit card info. Similar to Cardholder Services.

8 minutes before this I got the same call from them using this number:

    302-526-1234

I pressed 1 to talk to somone on this second call.

I asked the rep if they weren't also Cardholder Services. He said it wasn't. I tried also asking if they still sold car warranties. He started interrupting me...he got tired of me phishing them for info. I hung up.

They've called a few times to "help lower my credit card bills" and add "there's no problem with your account".  I've told them to put me on the Do Not Call list but they called again.  Shut Them Down!!

Received a call from this number about 5:15 P.M. today.  Was not available to answer my cell phone and they did not leave a message.  I'm on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY but it doesn't do any good.  Why bother to list your number with an association that doesn't exist?

I'm going to start reporting these calls because they have become more numerous.  It probably won't do any good to report them to the FCC!

Received truncated call as a "final notice" regarding "stimulus package."  A scam?  I am not calling back.

Automated call.  Left message stressing how "urgent" it is that we respond immediately in order to have our interest rate reduced to 6.9%.

I have told them to stop calling and they tell me it takes 3 weeks! Another person last week says that every time we answer the call it puts us back into the system!

Same as other people, they said I needed to pick up now to get a lower credit rate.  I decided to press 1 so I could yell at them.  The guy who picked up mumbled something that I didn't catch.  I said "what, I can't hear you" and he hung up.

    Caller ID is SERVICEMSG

This website needs to have a call type selection for scam.

I've been receiving these calls from SERVICEMSG for months.  I typically hang up but pressed 2 to first, ask exactly who they are, and second, ask them to remove me from their call list.  To the first question I got some generic answer "we're affiliated with credit card issuers LIKE Citibank, Chase, CapitalOne....  I knew that was crap, but the second response blew me away:  the rep answered "Why?"

That caught me by surprise, and I paused a bit, and then the call agent (who did sound like he was Indian, certainly not a "typical American" telemarketer.  His English was excellent, but just had a clear accent), he started mocking me!  My pause was repeated, "bluh, bluh, bluh...", purposely talking over me every time I started speaking.  Then I said I was going to report him, and he said, "Dude, do you know where I'm calling from?"

I think this is a scam, probably from outside the US.  I've received these SERVICEMSG calls from all sorts of numbers, from all sorts of area codes, even from phone numbers that appear on caller ID as cell phones.

Is there something that can be done?

Keeping a Spam Call Log, too
Have over 20 PAGES with 25-30 entries on each one of these calls; starting just over 3 years ago.  Have made countless complaints to the DoNotCallList; it DOES seem to increase their frequency not diminish them.  Oh, well, I'm gonna keep registering complaints; sooner or later they'll either stop or the government will do something.

I'm beginning to think they come from overseas, too, probably some sweatshop hellhole in India or Pakistan or Africa.  I say, Find em and NUKE em!

This call came in on my landline while I was on a long distance call on my cellphone with a HOSPITAL about a CRITICALLY ILL family member.  This just isn't right.  NUKE the S-O-Bs.

Received another call this morning.  Caller ID say SERVICEMSG.  Answered call, recording says this is my last chance to get a lower interest rate on my Credit Card.  Doesn't say which one. Press 1 to speak to a representative or 2 to stop further calls.  Didn't want to press either in case there's a way that I would be charged for something I don't want. Its annoying to be interrupted, only to find out the call was not worth answering. If I wanted a lower interest rate, I would contact the credit card company myself.
