I have received a call today. #1 to talk with someone about lowering your interest rates on your credit card. #2 to talk with someone on how to remove these notices. I selected #2, a Gentleman named Steve answered and begin to tell me about lowering my interest rate on my credit cards. He did not get my name and phone number they had dialed so they could remove this number from their auto dial list.
He was only interested to talk with me about the interest rates. He was lying about being able to remove my number from their phone list. I asked how did you get this number? Before he answered I said I don't have any credit cards. He hung up! Notifcation tothe FCC and I report to the donotcall.gov.

Yet another call from "heather with Account Services."  A google search on RAN DAVID BARNEA and DAVID POST will tell you about this scam operation out of Boca Raton Florida.

The message says "press 2 to get off the list" and I did but I know that I will still be getting these calls as I have been for years.

Florida's state attorney general must be deaf, dumb and blind.  As usual, the number left on my caller id is false but nothing new here since these guys have been spoofing the telephone companies for years.

Look folks, after reading a few entries on this board it should be very apparent these callers are scumbag scammers.

Here's what it's all about ... they have run a slew of credit reports and selected the ones with a whole lot of credit card debt.

- they tell you they can lower your rates with your CC companies ...

- they want you to pay them a fee while they completely wreck your credit.

- they want you to send a monthly payment to them and they will forward the payments to your CC companies. (after deducting their fee, of course)

- they tell your CC company that you will file bankruptcy if they don't agree to accept the lowered payments.

These critters are the scum of the earth.

Do not try to reason with them or even be polite. Treat the A$$WIPES as what they are ...

Any female callers ... use the "C" word quite frequently. Just vividly describe what they are.

Show no quarter! These are absolute scumbags!

Credit services wish these [***] would just stop

They wont stop calling. I never pick up but i got called 3 times back to back its just today its @#$%%^* annoying.

They have called several times..leaving a partial message about lowering my rate with stimulus funding...I don't have credit cards...what are they talking about..how can I get them to stop calling?

Get calls a couple times a day from different numbers. I figure the fcc and ftc wont stop them, pressing 2 is usless might as well have some fun. So when they call I press 1 and when someone answers I say FBI special agent speaking how may I help you? The person on the other end always says did you press one to lower your credit card rates. I repeat no this is the FBI you called us, my I have your name please. CLICK.

Yet again these folks call - with the "It's your last warning"  on reducing your  CC rate - Really please make it so!  And to top it off, when I pickup the phone they hang up.  

Caller ID:  "SERVICEMSG".  - it is the usual SCAM they want your CC Number.

There # is now Blocked!!

Just got an automated call from 202 367 9973 (Washington DC); "final notice" regarding "stimulus package", lower my credit card rates etc etc... Similar to a call I got 2 weeks ago from 701 920 9995 (Center, ND.)  Have reported both to the DNC registry.

I DO NOT want this number to call my home EVER AGAIN!!

Got a call from this number on 7/20/11 at 9:15 AM.  Recorded message said I can get lower interest rate on my card. Press "1" to speak with live rep.  I did.  Johnathan answered.  He aske me what card I was calling about.  I asked him WHAT CARD WAS HE CALLING ABOUT.  He said either Visa or Master Card.  I repeated, WHAT CARD ARE YOU....  HE replied EITHER.  I repeated WHAT CARD....  He hung up.  I called the FTC  (www.ftc.gov) and filed a complaint.  FTC wants to know about these calls, frequency, source number so they can trace a pattern for subsequent legal action.  You will get a reference number which you can use to make your complaint each time the perpetrators call.  Just writing a complaint on a website like this will not really help stop these illegal "telemarketers".  Be sure you have your phone numbers on the federal DO NOT CALL list, too!

Had a few minutes as I ate the last bit of my lunch to talk to these scoundrels.  I pressed 1 at the "speak to a representative" prompt and got some guy who sounded like he had marbles in his mouth.I put on a fake Swedish accent and he kept saying "I can't understand you."

He actually brought up my name based on their outbound calling number. He asked if he had the name correct and I said "No. They used to have this phone number."

He said "Sorry, we must have called the wrong number" and he hung up.

So they don't appear to be calling specific people that they have in a file somewhere.  Really strange.  FCC complaint filed.

I just got this call come in.  I suspect it's the same boiler rooms operating out of the state of Florida.  They use newer VOIP technology to avoid calls being traced.  There's one or two fellows heading up these operations and they assemble them in rented spaces, and everything is done with internet connections.  No local phone companies are involved.

Being well hidden behind the phones, employees at these operations are quick to become very vulgar and verbally abusive.  All levels of deception and criminal actions should be expected also.

I had identified two physical addresses in the past in Orlando and Tampa as revealed by whistle blowers who had worked at them.  I made numerous efforts to contact the Florida Secretary of State offices, which is the regulatory agency that is supposed to investigate such things.  I gave them detailed info and physical street addresses after finally finding some kind of internet form to fill out.  Actual phone calls to find humans who cared did not work.

The bottom line is;  These operations have had safe haven in the state of Florida for many years now, and the Secretary of State in Florida has not, and will not, do anything about it whatsoever.

I placed this number in the "reject call" list

CID sez "SERVICEMSG". Some sort of scam, probably.

Wants to reduce interest on credit cards

We've gotten several calls from "Card Services", an important message regarding our current credit card account, this is our second and final notice, ect ect.

Also got these same people from: 1-202-367-9968 and 1-786-358-6893
