I got a call from restricted, and same thing.. they had all of my info and address and the lady barely spoke english and talked really fast! The # they gave me to call was 202-657-6252 and speak with Nelson Webb. He told me I had to go to western union and send $260 to them & it goes to a 3rd world country to help homeless & hungry.... then he would put $7000 in grant money on my mastercard and would stay on the phone with me. I told him that I am not paying $260 to anyone & that it sounds like a scam because the government doesn't GIVE money to anyone! He assured me it isn't a scam and I said that I'm not interested.. $7000 sounds nice but not when you might lose $260 in the process and not have a guarantee you'll get the money.

Not this particular phone number, but same MO.  Hilarious, the caller said his name was "Jack Nicholson".  I asked to speak to his supervisor, and his name was "James Brown" (I feel good!).   I kept him & his supervisor on the line for 25 minutes (I had time to kill) - I can't believe they held on all that time!  I desperately tried to get information from them.  He did give me an address - 200 independent st   sw ave washington DC.  Of course, that was bogus - that's the Dept of Health & Human Services.  I asked him what agency he reported to, and he said the "Grant Department" reported directly to the Federal Government - what does that even mean???  Then, after I prompted him, he said, oh yeah, our department reports to the Treasury Department.   Please, please, please, somebody catch these ignorant bozos & put them in jail - or better yet, take all of their money, and then deport them.

I received the same thing but the number she called from was the 202-405-4852. Her name was Angela and she was with the U.S Treasury Dept and the bank US Federal was going to wire me the money!?! She said i was going to be wired $8400 in 45 minutes and i had to call this Mike Michael to get the information where to send the "processing fee". I had to verify a code with that guy and it was ya335. Ha! yea.. Whatever!

The number she told me to get ahold of Mike Michael at was 202-370-7640!!

Same $8,400 Loyal Citizen grant..got disconnected.

I received this call today, and it was exactly as described in these other posts.  I could hardly hear the guy, he barely spoke English, and told me that the grant was for my son (because my son originally answered the phone) because he'd never declared bankruptcy.  I informed the guy that wasn't a huge accomplishment since my son is 17.

I had this number call me from a private number say that I was selected from the government and he said that I was getting 7000 dollars and wanted my bank number and he felt studering with a diffrent accent these people really need to be caught before anybody else gets there call and realizes that it is a prank cause there are a lot of people out there that really are desprit people out there that really believe there lies because of how bad the economy is now

I gave what info that was required to deposit funds in my acct. Informed them that I suspect this to be a scam but would give them the benefit of doubt. But just as they required info from me I also required info from them they, gladly cooperated. With the same bs org names and numbers. But I got disconnected when I informed them that the security system my financial institution utilizes. For funds to be withdrawn they would need my member number but the information I gave them, with regards to my accts there would be no problem with deposits going in my accts and that if they were a scam or anything of that nature they were going to be in very serious trouble. But, that yes I wanted the 7 grand they were freely offering me. Needless to say I didn't get scammed nor did I recieve the funds promised. But, there're running through to many systems they will be stopped very soon. Cause the one reason u can never con a con-man is because you will only end up conned,, lol gotcha soon be hearing bout u on CNN.

I was just threatened on the phone because I told them that I believe that this was a scam.  As a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, I welcome them to my home.  If this was legit this would be funded through the FAFSA account.

i also recieved a call from this number as well and was fed the same b.s. as everyone else. these [***] need to be caught and stop getting peoples hope up!!!

The first person told me $10000 then the second one changed it to $7000.  I told them my card only held $1000 and he want me to go to the back and get another account that was bigger and when I got suspicious  he threaten to delete my account. info.  Go ahead and delete it.  He said he was from the USA Treasury Department and I get it for paying my bills on time and never filing bankrupt.

I got a call, and actually got my hopes up because I NEED the money just as bad as the next person. She kept saying I was going to receive money just as soon as gave her my credit card number, and then called her supervisor. She got VERY ANGRY when I told her that I could barely understand her because she spoke such broken English!
I gave them an old, nonworking credit care number, and she actually had the NERVE to call me back and tell me that card was not working for them to deposit funds to and that I needed to give them a card that actually has money on it!! I am so sure that if the government owed ANY of us money they would tell us in writing..
When she did call me back, I told her that people are on to them and that it was a huge scam and that someday SOON, God willing, they would ALL be behind bars and she QUICKLY hung up on me!!
People will do almost anything no days for $$ because of the economy! It is so SAD what they are doing to people!!

I just received the same call, I could barely understand what he was saying because he couldn't speak English very well, and there was a lot noise in the background like TVs . He got mad at me because I got him to repeat hisself an handed the phone off to another guy who barely spoke English, he claimed to be calling from Washington DC and said he would need my bank or credit card account, so they could transfer 7000 dollars to my account, then transfer me to the US treasury. When I asked why he said something about a government policy from 2009 that said they couldn't use cash or check. They said I was receiving because I pay my bills on time and never filed bankruptcy. It horrible that people would try to scam you out of your money you work hard for! I just really hope people can realize its a scam!

same call googled it and was reading this site as she was talking to me thanks guys wouldnt have gave this lady my info anyway but it was sure entertaining to give her the run around then call her out on this SCAM first clue was the call came from a non exsistant number154260309947 uhhh im not that dumb lady

The call came from 203-756-9834 and i was given   another number to call  209-220-2319 I was told that i was given a loyalty grant for 7,000 so i gave all of my banking information then i was asked to pay     140dollars thats when i hung up the phone

This lady just called sayin from an all zero number saying that I was chosen for the 7000$ grand reward...she said something about bankrupsy & bull like that but im only 18 so I was like wtf..plus I heard her tv in the background..i asked her why I couldnt get a # to call her back & why I couldnt get a website...she gave me this wack ass website www.usagovernmentgrants.org .......hope somebody catches her & arrest her,ass...

I got the call for the same thing with "blocked" in the caller ID.  People really need to get a JOB!

I just a call from someone with a Florida number:  (561) 667-5917.  His story was identical to these!!
