How does a person apply for a grant to help financially? Or is there such a thing?

There's this nifty thing called a 'web search'...

I know what you mean we keep getting an Iranian lady calling saying we won $9,000 from the treasury Department but they are calling on a private number I'm so sick of these fake calls I've turned them into everybody and they said they will stop. they haven't.

How do you know she is Iranian?

Guy claimed he was from the IRS when he called my mom for the offer of 9000 grant money for a survey done and she was selected for the same reasons above. He kept pausing and hung up when I asked what the grant was to be used for as there is usually a purpose for grants. The number called from was unavailable. Even told her to call the IRS to verify the story. He mentioned it being paid through western union. Same deal about no criminal background or bankruptcy in 6 months that sort of thing. This has just happened just today 6/20/2017.

This number called me telling me I won the chance to receive a grant of $9000 from the government for a good record. I couldn't understand the persons  name and his English wasn't good. He didn't ask personal questions of where I was or my card number, just asked which store I would pick my money up at: Walmart, Walgreens, or CVS. I picked CVS since I never go there. He gave me a number to call back and gave me my ID number and told me to call when we get off the phone. I didn't call. 42 minutes later I received a call from a blocked number and I answered and it beeped again so I hung up.

so I got a call from 202-630-5892 today for the second day in a row, saying I was gonna get 9000$ but had to pay 250$ first to get a conformation number. I honestly need that money, I am a single father and a full time student in between jobs. I called my finance concealer from my school and he confirmed that it was a scam. that is so messed up take someone's hard earned money and just burn them... low life's
